Paramount Network to Honor Patrick Swayze in New Documentary

 Paramount Network has joined forces with Network Entertainment to celebrate the life of legendary Hollywood figure Patrick Swayze for the  latest installment of the I Am documentary franchise. I Am Patrick Swayze will world premiere in the actor's home state at the San Antonio Film Festival on Friday, August 2, and will debut on Swayze's birthday, Sunday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. ETPT on Paramount Network.  Patrick Swayze classics Ghost and Dirty Dancing will air leading into the documentary at 3:30 p.m. ETPT and 6:30 p.m. ETPT. 

Youth Film Festival JUST BE YOU Arrives in New Jersey

A film festival completely dedicated to the youth, about the youth, and for the youth, returns for its second season. The 2nd Annual Just Be You Performing Arts Youth Film Festival (Just Be You Festival for short) will take place on Friday, August 30, 2019, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Rutger's University Paul Robeson Campus Center Dance Theater - 350 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Newark, New Jersey 07102. The festival will feature film screenings of short-films by kid and teen filmmakers from all over the world, with a special spotlight on New Jersey youth filmmakers.

Pepperdine Center For The Arts Announces 2019–2020 Season

Celebrated songwriters Rosanne Cash and Burton Cummings, American Idol winner Ruben Studdard, returning favorites Tommy Emmanueland Lea Salonga, and Whose Line is it Anyway? stars Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood are just a few of the artists set to appear at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts at Pepperdine University during its 2019-2020 season.

Horizon Theatre Announces Summer Comedy SWEET WATER TASTE

Horizon Theatre Company is continuing its 35th Anniversary Season with a production that packs more family drama than your laugh-box will be able to stand! SWEET WATER TASTE, a new comedy from Gloria Bond Clunie, will hit the Little Five Points stage from July 12 - August 18, 2019.

Free Entertainment Returns To The Marcus Center's Peck Pavilion

Live @ Peck Pavilion returns to the Marcus Performing Arts Center grounds this summer. The season will run from June 26 through September 5 with each day of the series featuring a different program focus. Optimist Theatre: Shakespeare in the Park returns to Peck Pavilion from June 26-July 13 with their presentation of The Comedy of Errors. Community Partners, Milwaukee Ballet's Ballet Beat, True Skool Block Party and Milwaukee Fringe Festival, also return this summer. All events in Peck Pavilion are free and open to the public.

Activist And #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke To Receive Honorary Doctor Of Humane Letters At Brooklyn College Commencement

Brooklyn College will celebrate its 94th Commencement on Thursday, May 30. More than 4,300 graduating students-3,097 undergraduate students, 1,183 master's candidates, and 61 students receiving advanced certificates-makes the class of 2019 one of the largest among Brooklyn higher education institutions. The ceremony will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Students in the graduating class come from more than 125 countries and speak over 80 languages. Fifty-three members of the class are veterans or currently enlisted in the U.S. military and approximately 98 members identify as having a disability.

MSMT Presents Modern Retelling Of SNOW WHITE

Maine State Music Theatre (MSMT) presents Robin and Clark's Snow White. This 50-minute musical version of the fairy tale runs June 12th and June 15th, 2019. There will be performances on both days at 10 am and 1 pm.

The Shed Launches Open Call Commissioning Program May 30

Open Call, The Shed's commissioning and programming initiative for New York-based emerging artists, launches on Thursday, May 30, with new works by seven artists and collectives presented in The Griffin Theater over six weeks. The inaugural program continues June 19 through August 25 with a group show of 22 artists and collectives in Level 2 Gallery and presentations of new work by 15 artists and collectives in The Shed's open-air Plaza; a fourth group will be presented in 2020.
