BWW Flashback: Meet the Recurring Characters of ALL THE WAY and THE GREAT SOCIETY

In 2014, Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan transported audiences to 1963 in ALL THE WAY- a play about the beginning of LBJ's presidency. Five years later, Schenkkan continues the story with The Great Society, which opens on Broadway tonight, October 1 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65th St).

The World Premiere Of (A)LOFT MODULATION Begins Tonight

a??a??a??a??a??a??a?? the american vicarious proudly presents the World Premiere of (A)loft Modulation by NYC-based playwright Jaymes Jorsling. Inspired by true events at 821 6th Avenue from 1957 - 1965,  (A)loft Modulation will feature a live jazz band led by saxophonist Jonathan Beshay that will improvise nightly. Previews begin tonight, Thursday September 26th, with Opening Night set for Thursday, October 3rd. This limited Off-Broadway engagement runs through Sunday, October 27th.

Hip-Hop Dance Duo The Wondertwins Opens Autorino Center 2019-2020 Season

The Autorino Center for the Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph kicks off the performing arts center's 2019-2020 season with the hip-hop dance duo The Wondertwins' newest show, BLACK. The performance is Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available as part of the Autorino Center's Pay-It-Forward program, where audience members decide what, if anything, they would like to pay.

Opening on Friday night at The Coterie Theatre inside Crown Center is a?oeRise Up,a?? a four person, seventy five minute play written by British playwright Lisa Evans. The subject is the 1961 a?oeFreedom Ridersa?? project designed by James Farmer's CORE (Congress of Racial Equality). The premise is a group of four contemporary secondary students recount a conflict in the struggle for racial equality in the U.S. for a school age audience.

Elizabeth Warren Takes The Lead In THE GREAT SOCIETY Primary Week 1

With just over 2,500 ballots cast in the first week of voting in the 'Great Society Primary' at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Broadway, theatergoers of The Great Society overwhelmingly chose Senator Elizabeth Warren as the Democratic presidential candidate with 36% of the vote, followed by Vice President Joe Biden (17%), Mayor Pete Buttigieg (15%), Senator Kamala Harris (6%) and Senator Bernie Sanders (6%). As the Republican presidential candidate, theatergoers chose President Donald Trump (4%) over Governor Bill Weld (2%) and Congressman Joe Walsh (0.5%).
