Foreigner are back on the road for their 40th anniversary tour - just as a brand new musical based on the timeless hits of the band prepares to open in Canada.

The Grand Theatre is proud to officially announce that the 2018 High School Project will be the ground-breaking new production PROM QUEEN: THE MUSICAL, based on the true-life story of Marc Hall.  At an event held yesterday, Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum told attendees that the Grand has secured the exclusive rights to stage PROM QUEEN this upcoming season, marking the first time the Grand's High School Project will produce a new Canadian musical. 

The Segal Centre is proud to welcome back the delightful, talented and beloved Gabi Epstein for one night only on Tuesday, February 27, at 8 p.m. to perform her critically acclaimed cabaret Gabs Sings Babs: Gabi Epstein sings the songs of Barbra Streisand, as part of the Power Music Series.

Podium Concert Productions, led by producer Peter da Costa and music director Mark Camilleri, presents high-calibre concert versions of musicals. Their second production, NINE IN CONCERT, was just that, a mostly high-calibre production featuring a cast of prominent Canadian talent, and a rare opportunity to see a rarely-produced show.

After the success of last year's inaugural show, THE SECRET GARDEN IN CONCERT, Podium Concert Productions returns to present NINE IN CONCERT on January 12 and 13, 2018 at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre for the Arts. Sheridan College's Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), under the leadership of Michael Rubinoff, Associate Dean, Visual and Performing Arts, is an international centre of excellence for the development of new musicals in Canada. Since its inception in 2011, 15 shows have been incubated and continue their development in various stages: Four have enjoyed professional premieres, including Come From Away, which opened on Broadway in 2017 and received a Tony Award nomination for Best Musical.

The Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company and Dancap Productions present THE JAZZ SINGER, a new musical adaption of Samson Raphaelson's classic story of a son's struggle between his passion for a Broadway career, and his father's plans to have him follow in his footsteps as a cantor. The production will run May 23 - June 18, 2017 at Greenwin Theatre, Toronto Centre for the Arts.

The Canadian premiere of Prom Queen: The Musical at Montreal's Segal Centre is the company's most ambitious production to date.

Due to popular demand, the Segal Centre is thrilled to announce that three performances have been added to the world premiere production of Prom Queen: The Musical. Produced by Mary Young Leckie and the Segal Centre, Prom Queen: The Musical tells the inspiring, true story of Marc Hall, the Ontario teenager who took his Catholic School Board to court when they refused to let him attend prom with his boyfriend. This new, award-winning Canadian musical directed by Marcia Kash, written by Kent Staines, with lyrics by Akiva Romer-Segal and music by Colleen Dauncey will now run on the Segal Stage until November 23, 2016.
