Student Blog: Fefu and Her Friends- Creating Together

Growing with Fefu and Her Friends just reminded me to think about my performance in the larger contact of us, an ensemble. In rehearsal, we come together to learn, fail, heal, and grow. I think that's the most important thing I take away from this production. Rehearsals are about becoming stronger together. It's the only way to put on a successful show.

Sam Woodhouse to Retire as Artistic Director of San Diego REP

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced that Sam Woodhouse will step down as Artistic Director in September 2022 after leading the company for 46 years. At the end of this season, San Diego REP will have produced 333 productions under Woodhouse’s leadership - more than 50 of them were world premieres.

Student Blog: My Feminism and Theatre Class Reading List

This past semester, I took one of my favorite classes I’ve had so far in my time at Tisch, Feminism and Theatre. My teacher, Gwendolyn Alker’s, syllabus set the stage for the amazing class. We read plays by playwrights of all different backgrounds, about all kinds of subjects, and we talked about why they’re important, in conjunction with feminist theoretical texts.

NNPN's Annual Commission Awarded To Nambi E. Kelley

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has announced the recipient of this year's Annual Commission: Nambi E. Kelley, in partnership with San Diego Repertory Theatre, will develop her new play, Project American X.

American Blues Presents Reading of RED BIKE by Caridad Svich

American Blues Theater will present the live, online reading of Red Bike, written by Caridad Svich, directed by Lavina Jadhwani, and starring August Forman, as part of “The Room” series. The reading will be live on Wednesday, December 9 at 7pm Central. The 75-minute reading will be followed by a group discussion.
