Freestyle Digital Media To Release I HATE KIDS This January

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to John Asher's I HATE KIDS. This is the second title from John Asher that Freestyle Digital Media has acquired, following 2016's A BOY CALLED PO. Starring Tom Everett Scott (TruTV's “I'm Sorry”), Tituss Burgess (Netflix's “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”), Rachel Boston (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) and Rhea Seehorn (AMC's “Better Call Saul”) film will hit select theaters nationwide January 18, 2019 along with all digital platforms.

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to Emma Forrest's directorial debut UNTOGETHER. Following its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April, and starring Jamie Dornan (50 SHADES OF GREY), Jemima Kirke (HBO's “Girls”), Ben Mendelsohn (ROGUE ONE, Netflix's “Bloodline”), Lola Kirke (Amazon's “Mozart in the Jungle”), and Billy Crystal (WHEN HARRY MET SALLY), the film will hit select theaters nationwide February 8, 2019 along with all digital platforms.

UCLA School Of Theater, Film And Television Announces 2018-19 Theater Season

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's (UCLA TFT) Department of Theater announced today its upcoming Mainstage theater season, which includes the production of two plays by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, who was previously announced as the school's inaugural Hearst Theater Lab Initiative Distinguished Playwright-in-Residence for the 2018-19 academic year.

Marjorie Prime Wins Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize at 2017 Sundance Film Festival

At a reception during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival today, the beneficiaries of $60,000 in grants from Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, the Vice President of Programs at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, announced the winners: Michael Almereyda's Marjorie Prime won the Feature Film Prize; Adam Benic's Levittown (Sundance Institute | Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Episodic Storytelling Grant); Darcy Brislin and Dyana Winkler's Bell (Sundance Institute | Sloan Lab Fellowship); and Jamie Dawson and Howard Gertler's Untitled Smallpox Eradication Project (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant).
