New Houston Cinema Arts Society Announces New Artistic Director

Houston Cinema Arts Society has announced that Jessica Green will assume the role of Artistic Director for the 10-year old Houston Cinema Arts Festival the multi-venue film and arts festival anchored by Museum of Fine Arts Houston that has the distinction of being the only U.S. film festival devoted to films by and about visual, performing, and literary artists. Green will replace outgoing Artistic Director Richard Herskowitz as programmer-in-chief for the acclaimed festival starting with the 11th annual 5-day festival taking place November 14 18, 2019 in addition to special film engagements throughout the calendar year.

Riverside Theatre present the effervescent award-winning musical, Legally Blonde. Sponsored by The O'Haire Group-Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and Riverside Theatre's Patron Producers Group, Legally Blonde performs on the Stark Stage from April 16 - May 5, 2019. Legally Blonde is a co-production between Riverside Theatre and the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia.
Art Directors Guild Film Society Announces 2019 Screening Series

The Art Directors Guild (ADG) Film Society and the American Cinematheque are co-hosting the annual 2019 Screening Series “Production Design: Designers On Design” highlighting the work of renowned Production Designers and their creative collaborations. The monthly series will run from April through August at the Egyptian (6712 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood) with all screenings starting at 5:30 pm. Moderating the screenings are Production Designers THOMAS A. WALSH ADG, JOHN MUTOADG, and JOHN IACOVELLI ADG. The screening series is sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter. Well, Hockadoo! Memphis at the Actors' Playhouse was FANTASTICAL! Memphis was so fantastical that you can 'stick it in your gas tank and it will make your car run…you can rub it all over your head and watch your hair grow back… it's so good your nagging wife will shut up; your kids will stop screaming…' You catch my drift? It's one hell of a production. I remember watching Once the musical at Actors' Playhouse last year thinking that it was magic and I had those same feelings watching Memphis last night. The moment the curtains rose the tangible energy rippling off the stage was exciting.

The cast and creative team have been announced for the Signature Theatre production of Curse of the Starving Class by Sam Shepard and directed by Tony Award nominee Terry Kinney. The production runs April 23 to May 26, 2019 with a Monday, May 13 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
