Being Future Being will have its world premiere at BroadStage at Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, September 8–10, 2022, followed by performances at New York Live Arts, October 20–22.

The Cape Cod Theatre Project (CCTP) presents the largest cast of the 2022 season with Brittany K. Allen's MTC/Sloan Commission, Ball Change, on July  14th, 15th, and 16th at 7:30pm ET at Falmouth Academy, directed by New York-based Dina Vovsi.

Jacob's Pillow has announced its fall season including commissions, community artist partnerships, and COVID-19-compliant Pillow Lab residencies. With the aim of continuing to support artists and bring powerful, relevant work to audiences while prioritizing health and safety, these virtual events take place from October through December.

The Old Globe presents West Coast premiere of Little Women by Kate Hamill. This brand-new version of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel about Jo March and her three unforgettably distinct sisters is presented in association with Dallas Theater Center and is directed by Sarah Rasmussen (Artistic Director of Jungle Theater, which originally commissioned the play).

Many American theater-goers have either read Little Women in High School, or seen the play, musical, or recent star-studded film.  When staging this show, the challenge therefore becomes- how do you keep it fresh and original?  Luckily for us, Dallas Theater Center has never had a problem with a lack of creativity, and they didn't start with this production of Little Women!

Dallas Theater Center presents an adaptation of the timeless literary classic, Little Women, at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. A fresh spin on the familiar tale, Little Women begins with a Pay What You Can performance on Feb. 7 and continues through March 1. Corkscrew Theater Festival, which runs July 10-August 3, inaugurates its Corkscrew Downstairs series of workshop productions this summer in the lower level theater at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). The four projects all take classic texts as a starting point, including A Doll's House, Twelfth Night, the poetry of Walt Whitman, and Leslie Feinberg's 1993 novel Stone Butch Blues. The Downstairs series shares one team of designers -Dan Daly (sets), Christina Tang (lights), and Cinthia Chen (props)-and one flexible repertory set, deepening the festival's focus on exploring collaboration in different forms.

The production is a part of SubletSeries@HERE: Co-op, HERE's curated rental program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment, as well as technical support Sources of Light Other Than the Sun will play at HERE, 145 6th Ave, New York, 10013 from December 7th-9th with shows on Friday and Today at 8.30pm and on Sunday at 4pm.

Corkscrew Theater Festival presents the world premiere of The End of Mermaids, written by Anya Richkind and directed by Allison Benko. Running July 12-22, The End of Mermaids is a sinister comedy about a group of women striving to achieve true beauty through their performances at a failing mermaid theme park, while under siege from an impatient, hungry alligator. The play includes several 'underwater performance' sequences, brought to life by inventive set, costume, lighting, and sound design. Performed by Isabella Dawis, Elizabeth Evans, Lindsey Spohler, and Maggie Thompson*, The End of Mermaids kicks off the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.

The 8th Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam is being held tomorrow, Friday, April 27th from 1-4pm at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. Notable Sonnet readers this year include Michael Urie, Dana Ivey, Brian Soliwoda as C.P. Shakes and Perdita, the pigeon, Peter Francis James, American painter Gerri Davis and Award-winning Orchestrator Michael Starobin. The Sonnet Slam features 154 readers of all ages performing all 154 of Shakespeare's Sonnets in numerical order. The event is free to the public. This year, the kickoff Reader for Sonnet #1 will be Tony Award-nominee and Drama Desk-winner Kathleen Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit, Showtime's The Affair).

In a spare, tautly sculpted performance of Shakespeare's classic tragedy of deceit and jealousy, The Theater at Monmouth's offers a gripping, tension-filled and tempestuous account of Shakespeare's Othello. Four hundred and forty-five years later French playwright Moliere still bubbles with joyous, effervescent, sometimes mordant wit, and it is just this sparkle that Theater at Monmouth's new production of The Learned Ladies serves up in generous, exuberant fashion in an elegantly translated (uncredited), briskly performed, hugely witty comedy of manners about the affectations of a group of philosophy-loving women and the gender politics of their world.
