Marilyn Maye always packs the Celebrity Room at Dino's Backstage in Glenside, PA, and now fans can get another chance to see this legendary performer as she returns there on September 14, 15 and 16. The month starts off with two performances by Paula Johns and Michael Richard Kelly on September 8 and 9. The duo will be accompanied by The Tom Adams Trio, with Tom Adams on piano, Steve Varner on bass and Grant MacAvoy on drums. On September 22 and 23, the multi-media tribute performer Randy Roberts will showcase his impersonations of famous women. Michael Richard Kelly and Paula Johns and The Tom Adams Trio wrap up the month with two performances on September 29 and 30.

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 26th season with Rebecca Gilman's (Blue Surge, Spinning Into Butter, The Sweetest Swing in Baseball) LUNA GALE. Aurora Artistic Director Tom Ross directs this powerful and arresting Bay Area Premiere, featuring Jamie Jones (Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, Mud Blue Sky, Gideon's Knot), Laura Jane Bailey (Mud Blue Sky), Devin S. A special benefit performance of the hugely popular "The Judy Show" at Michael Holmes' Purple Room will kick off an exciting 10th Anniversary season of Dezart Performs. A busy season of Dezart Performs events and provocative cutting-edge productions will begin with a one-night-only dinner show performance of "The Judy Show" at Michael Holmes' Purple Room on Sunday, September 17 at 5 p.m. for dinner, show at 7 p.m.  This show benefits Dezart Performs, a nonprofit theater company which brings many new and never-before-seen productions to the Coachella Valley. Michael Holmes' Purple Room is donating 100% of ticket sales to Dezart Performs and has arranged 100% matching funds for food and beverage for the evening. 

Stage and screen actor, director and screenwriter Joe Bologna passed away yesterday, August 13th in CA at the age of 82.

Red Lab Productions (Boris Akunin's Hamlet. A Version) will present the World Premiere of Lasha Bugadze's Navigator in Love, directed by Adam Knight (In the Room with Slant Theatre Project) as part of the Georgian-American Theatrical Feast, a festival of new works written by playwrights from the Republic of Georgia translated into English, July 13-August 6 at Teatro Circulo (64 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances on Thu 7/13, Fri 7/14, Sat 7/15, Sat 7/22, Wed 7/26, Thu 7/27, Fri 7/28, Fri 8/4 & Sat 8/5 @ 8pm, Sun 7/16, Sun 7/23 & Sun 8/6 @ 3pm.
