Barter Theatre officials announced today its 2019 season lineup during an exclusive event highlighting select excerpts from various upcoming productions. The event included the details of 16 diverse shows planned for 2019 with the theme of Love, Laughter, and Passion.

The New York City Premiere of Tom Gold Dance Founder and Director Tom Gold's Apparatus Hominus will take place during the inaugural fall season of Tom Gold Dance, Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Florence Gould Hall at French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).

Theater at Monmouth presents the cult holiday hit, The Santaland Diaries, adapted by Joe Mantello from David Sedaris' best-selling book Holidays on Ice. This modern holiday classic, made famous when it aired on National Public Radio, recounts the tale of Sedaris' stint as a Macy's Department Store elf named "Crumpet." Sedaris' off-kilter, witty, and often sentimental holiday memoir (not suitable for children) will have you laughing into the New Year!

This week the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association is voting on the final award list in preparation for the Third Annual Berkshire Theatre Awards. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on Monday, November 12 at 7 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First Street (Route 7) in Pittsfield, MA.

Camp Broadway, presented by the FSCJ Artist Series, returns to Jacksonville for its 19th year from Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14, 2019 from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the FSCJ Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts on Florida State College at Jacksonville's South Campus. Registration opens Monday, October 15 at 10 a.m.

The Carney Awards announced a broadcast partnership with PIX11 in New York, the home of The Honeymooners for past 60 years.   The Carney Awards, named for the late, great Oscar and six-time Emmy Award-winning actor Art Carney, star of The Honeymooners, recognize outstanding achievements in character acting and will honor Joe Morton, Jessica Walter, Joe Pantoliano, M. Emmet Walsh, James Cromwell and Bruce Greenwood.  Comedian Patton Oswalt will host the evening's program which will be recorded at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica, CA on Sunday, October 28, 2018.   The 2-hour telecast will air on PIX11, Tribune Broadcasting's New York flagship television station, on Saturday, November 24, 2018 (8:00 PM – 10:00 PM). PIX11 will air a special marathon of The Honeymooners leading into The Carney Awards broadcast, starting at 6:00 PM.

Claude Debussy's masterpiece, La Mer, will be performed, highlighting a truly unique collaboration of Indian and Western classical works. Featuring special guests, including Grammy-nominated composer/artist Guarav Mazumdar and American-Indian composer Reena Esmail, the Chicago Sinfonietta will perform Saturday, November 10 at 8 p.m. at Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville, and on Monday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave.

Back by popular demand, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley presents the holiday hit The Santaland Diaries, returning to the intimate 180-seat Lohman Theatre. Written by David Sedaris, this rollicking one-man cure for an overdose of holiday hype will have a limited three-week run in Los Altos Hills.

The producers of Broadway's Waitress announced today that both Al Roker and Nicolette Robinson will extend their stays at the most popular diner on 47th Street through November 18.

A Free Bird Organization has become known for its tireless dedication to helping pediatric cancer patients pursue their passion for the arts. Ars Lyrica Houston presents its first full-length Baroque opera production on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 pm & Sunday, November 18 at 2:30 pm in Zilkha Hall at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The cast for Ars Lyrica's production of this early Handel masterpiece includes: Sofia Selowsky as Agrippina, John Holiday as Nero, Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen as Ottone, Camille Ortiz as Poppea, and Timothy Jones as Claudio. Conductor and artistic director Matthew Dirst describes the opera as "Handel's first operatic masterpiece, the work that forged his reputation as a theatrical genius."
