Gruesome Playground Injuries, the dark comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph, has its South African premiere at Alexander Bar from 5 to 17 November. Directed by multiple award-winner Tara Notcutt (The Taming of the Shrew, The Three Little Pigs, …miskien), the two hander stars Matt Newman as Doug, and introducing Candice Bernstein as Kayleen.

Given specifically to secure the future of the vibrant CMS Two residency program which is dedicated to developing the next generation of outstanding young musicians, the five-million dollar gift enables broader and deeper experiences for every artist in the program. In recognition of her gift, CMS Two will be renamed The Bowers Program, beginning with the 2018-2019 season, which opens October 16.

Hannah Chissick directs Jasper Britton as (Stewart), Sia Dauda (Sally), Alasdair Harvey (Peter Kroger), Chris Larkin (Bob Jackson), Macy Nyman (Julie Jackson), Tracy-Ann Oberman (Helen Kroger), Natalie Walter (Thelma) and Finty Williams (Barbara Jackson). The production opens on 1 October, with previews from 20 September, and runs until 17 November.

PublicART Premieres New Single and Announces EP Release Date

Los Angeles-based electro-folk duo PublicART will release their new EP Modernika on September 21st. The record was produced and mixed by the band's multi-instrumentalist Jan Ozveren, co-produced by singer Stevvi Alexander, with all songs co-written by both. Mastering was performed by multi-award winner Reuben Cohen (Iggy Pop, Pharrell Williams, Interpol). Modernika is available for pre-order now from iTunes.

The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) and Palm Canyon Theatre (PCT) join theatrical forces on Sunday, September 30 at 7:00 p.m. as they bring an enchanted evening of 'The Best Of Rodgers And Hammerstein' to the desert to benefit both organizations. This cast for includes two-time Emmy® nominated actress and singer Bobbie Eakes along with the vocal talents of desert favorites Theresa Jewett, Charles Herrera, and Keisha D, who will perform numbers written and composed by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Members of the Palm Canyon Theatre Company will sing selections from Oklahoma!  the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will present  'There is Nothing Like a Dame' from South Pacific, 'We Kiss in a Shadow' from The King and I and 'Boys and Girls Like You and Me' from State Fair.  The concert will be followed by a reception under the stars.

Husband-and-wife duo John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey make their annual fall pilgrimage to Cafe Carlyle with an all-new show, American Stories, November 6-17. The New York Times recently described John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey as "the supreme nightclub act of our time." A world-renowned guitarist and singer, John Pizzarelli has been entertaining audiences for over 20 years and has established himself as one of the prime contemporary interpreters of the Great American Songbook. Jessica Molaskey is a veteran of a dozen Broadway shows including the revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George, which was nominated for nine Tony Awards. TIME has raved, "Sophisticated, jazzy and engaging, the Astaire-Rodgers of the cabaret world are at the top of their game."
