The iconic holiday classic movie, Miracle on 34th Street, first brought joy into the hearts of millions in the summer of 1947. Although it was and is most definitely a Christmas movie, the original producers chose to release it in May because more people went to the movies in the summer. The fact that it was a Christmas movie was not even included in the marketing campaign. It was kept a secret! Hard to imagine that now, as it has become a holiday tradition for generations.

This holiday season, country music icon and lifestyle influencer, Martina McBride, has been busy helping spread a little Christmas magic to her fans. Whether it be by setting the mood for your annual holiday party with her recently released jazz influenced and symphony orchestra backed album, It's The Holiday Season, or by helping craft perfect recipes for your family and friends with her new cookbook, Martina's Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life and current show on Food Network, “Martina's Table” (airing Sundays at 12pm ET/PT), McBride has all your holiday entertaining needs covered!

Elf the Musical is the perfect holiday treat. Whether you know the 2003 movie version that featured Will Ferrell or not, it doesn't matter. As a collaborative effort of the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine performed at the charmingly unique Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, this show is one of the best holiday themed productions I've ever seen. The setting, combined with a funny script, rollicking musical numbers, costumes in Christmas palette colors and outrageous dance numbers (you can't beat tap dancing elves and Santas!) this show is worth seeing.

Tamiko Robinson Steele's bravura performance as Mary, the heroine of Ginna Hoben's delightful The Twelve Dates Of Christmas, is reason enough to spend an hour and a half in a darkened theater amid all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Now onstage in the fourth annual Tennessee Women's Theater Project production of Hoben's sharply written and wonderfully entertaining one-woman show, Steele brings her own sense of whimsy and fun to the role that Rebekah Durham so memorably portrayed from 2015-2017 for TWTP.

The Syracuse Stage and Syracuse University (SU) Department of Drama Holiday production is an annual tradition for many Central New Yorkers. This year, the family friendly holiday show Elf the Musical is the perfect start to the Holiday season. The production features fabulous SU drama students, local child performers, and accomplished equity actors. Director Donna Drake, last season's director of The Wizard of Oz, brings the comedy, the heart, and the holiday cheer to life with her fun and festive direction.

As This Is The Week That Is plays through the month of December,1812 Productions will present a special two-night-only staged reading of David Sedaris' The Santaland Diaries. A modern comedy classic about the author's time as a Macy's Christmas elf, this special event stars David Bardeen in his 1812 Productions debut. The evening will also feature a musical selection of holiday favorites with Emily Kleimo at the mic and Gina Giachero at the piano.

NBC has announced the second group of superstar acts who will compete on the all-new winter edition of TV's #1 alternative series, "America's Got Talent: The Champions," premiering Monday, Jan. 7 from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT.  

The Actors' Gang production of APHRODITE'S HOLIDAY SHOW will begin Thursday, November 29th as part of The Actors' Gang 2018/19 Hellzapoppin' Season. APHRODITE'S HOLIDAY SHOW will perform every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, through December 16th.

MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET is perfect for families looking for a fun outing that captures the spirit of the season. Full of laughs, holiday magic and music, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET tells how the department store Santa who comes in to Macy's as an emergency substitute challenges the mother and daughter's refusal to believe when he claims to be the one and only Kris Kringle. Can he prove to them and the world that Santa is real while making one little girl's dreams come true? 

City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph Street, announces O.A.R. lead vocalist/guitarist Marc Roberge, and more. The following shows go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 29 at noon. All tickets will be available at citywinery.com/chicago.

Now onstage at the Roxy Regional Theatre in Clarksville through December 22, Miracle on 34th Street is among a small number of titles available to theater companies all over the United States looking for seasonal entertainment options for their loyal fans and season ticket holders. In fact, there's another production of the show opening at Murfreesboro's Center for the Arts this weekend and Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre in Nashville has announced the show as its holiday offering in 2019.

Arizona Broadway Theatre presents MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, directed by James Rio. Runs through December 29th.

It was the kiss seen around the world when the cast of THE PROM took center stage at The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They performed their finale number, at the end of which the two actresses who play the lesbian couple at the center of the show kissed. It was a first for the parade and a moment that was both celebrated and scorned on social media. For Raleigh native Beth Leavel, who is starring in THE PROM, that finale moment celebrates what this show is all about. 'If you come away with your heart exploring something you didn't' think was possible, wow,' she says. 'Theater is amazing.'

Eight-time GRAMMY® award winning entertainer Dolly Parton released the music video of "Girl In The Movies" today.  This track is one of 12 newly-recorded tracks on the highly-anticipated Dumplin' Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Dolly Records/RCA Nashville) out Nov. 30, and"Dumplin'" will premiere in select theaters and on Netflix on Dec. 7.
