As part of Live from Feinstein's/54 Below, original Broadway cast members from Seussical reunited just last night for one night only to perform the beloved musical from the legendary team of Ahrens and Flaherty about courage, acceptance, friendship and love.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center has announced the cast for its upcoming Mainstage production of A Christmas Carol the musical, playing December 3-30.

The world-renowned Young People's Chorus of New York City will return to the holiday stage for the first time in two years when it presents its upcoming holiday spectacular, A Very Merry New York.

Spirited, an upcoming movie musical adaption of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, has added Sukari Jones, Khiyon Hursey and Mark Sonnenblick, as new songwriters to join Pasek and Paul in writing original music for the film. The cast includes Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Octavia Spencer, and Sunita Mani.

J2 Spotlight Musical Theater Company has announced the exciting three-musical lineup for its second season. Ragtime opened last night, featuring a cast of Nashville stage veterans and a sizable coterie of performers, heretofore unknown to local audiences, who are certain to become fast favorites. Taking a brief respite from their hectic schedules of rehearsals, fittings, photo calls, more rehearsals and getting to know one another, four of those newcomers – Shelby Denise Smith, Wood Van Meter, Kortney Ballenger and Steven McCoy – took the time to answer our questions to tell you why you need to score those tickets for Ragtime now if you haven’t already.

Ragtime, the Tony Award-winning musical about life in these United States during the very early years of the 20th century, is a richly drawn and evocatively told rumination on the pursuit of the American dream seen from the perspective of a diverse, multi-ethnic cast of characters. Now onstage through Sunday at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s James K. Polk Theatre, in a glittering and sumptuous revival from Nashville Repertory Theatre, Ragtime proves an ambitious choice for the company’s return to live performance after more than 18 months of darkness due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Bitter miser Ebenezer Scrooge has nearly humbugged his way through another Christmas Eve when the specter of his former partner, Jacob Marley, appears to warn him that three spirits will visit in the night to lead him through Christmases past, present, and future. Through a sweeping score and whimsical storytelling, Scrooge seeks redemption for his selfish ways in time for a happy Christmas Day – lest he doom himself and others to a more chilling fate.

Opening Thursday night, November 11 and continuing for five performances through Sunday, November 14, Ragtime – the musical by Stephen Flaherty (music), Lynn Ahrens (lyrics) and Terrance McNally (book) which, in turn, is based upon E.L. Doctorow’s 1975 novel of the same name – promises to be a grand undertaking, which hopefully will blow away the cobwebs and the dust that’s collected in the past year-and-a-half during which the theater was dark and the company strived to remain relevant and productive amidst all the challenges that ensued.

The national tour of ANASTASIA will visit EJ Thomas Hall as part of the Broadway in Akron series November 30 and December 1, 2021.

New production photos have been released for the non-Equity, North American tour of Anastasia! The cast stars Kyla Stone as Anya, Sam McLellan as Dmitry, Brandon Delgado as Gleb, Gerri Weagraff as Dowager Empress, Bryan Seastrom as Vlad, Madeline Raube as Countess Lily and Taya Diggs and Marley Sophia as Little Anastasia.

Musical Theatre of Anthem (MTA) announced their upcoming production of Seussical, a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza will run in Spring 2022.

Historical themes have always been incorporated into stage shows, from classic Broadway musicals to contemporary productions. Contrary to what some may believe, not all historical-themed productions are old Broadway musicals. Several historical musicals have gone on to become classics, though this is not specifically a golden age musicals list.

Theaters around the world are coming all together... soon. Next weekend, November 12-15, theatrical licensor Music Theatre International launches All Together Now!: A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. This worldwide fundraising event celebrates the return of live theatre and allows organizations around the world to locally produce and perform an exclusive musical revue featuring songs from MTI's beloved shows.

For this year's gala the Foundation will be honoring Emmy, Tony, and Grammy award winning actor and singer Billy Porter, who also served as a key founding faculty member for the arts education nonprofit.

Broadway shows are returning to Louisville this month! Kicking off the PNC Broadway in Louisville 2021 lineup will be Waitress, which begins performances on November 9, and runs through the 14.
