Pushcart Players artistic director Paul Whelihan will perform in Zoom readings of “ART,” a play by Yasmine Reza on Thursday May 6 and Friday May 7 at 7:30 pm.

Amas Musical Theatre today announced the recipients of the third Eric H. Weinberger Award for Emerging Librettists. Gabe Caruso and Sangwoo ‘Simon’ Lee, 2020 graduates of the NYU Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, were selected for their full-length musical SETTLE DOWN: A New Hip Hop Musical.

#RIFT by Gabriel Jason Dean launches this Friday, April 9 at Luna Stage. Part One of the play will be delivered to subscribers' phones over text message over the next eight weeks. Sign-ups will be accepted through April 23, but capacity is limited. Reservations are required, and are available at lunastage.org.

Luna Stage has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts to support COVID-safe re-opening, including the return of in-person summer youth programs. First up is the Teen Collaborator Intensive, a four-week theatre, filmmaking and playwriting program using both outdoor space and Luna's new flexible Green Screen studio. Additional programs for younger students will be announced soon. Virtual and hybrid options will also be available. 

Luna Stage announces a bold new theatrical experience in three parts: #RIFT by Gabriel Jason Dean. Through the lens of two real-life brothers—one a convicted murderer, the other a playwright; one a member of the alt-right, the other an A.O.C.-type progressive—#RIFT explores whether it is possible to bridge fundamental political and ideological divides.

Bucks County Playhouse's acclaimed education program encourages children, teens and adults to explore their creativity through a wide variety of online classes for Spring 2021. The current roster of classes includes: Acting for Adults, Broadway Dance Workshops, Improv for Adults, Writers Workshop and Writing and Performing Your Own Solo Show.

Luna Stage has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the New Jersey Arts & Culture Recovery Fund of the Princeton Area Community Foundation to support their ongoing artistic work and education programming. The New Jersey Arts and Culture Recovery Fund was established to ensure the survival and strength of the state's arts, cultural and historical sector during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

For 24 years, New Jersey Theatre Alliance has offered a spring festival of performances, workshops, and readings throughout the state. This year's festival will be held primarily online, due to the ongoing pandemic.

Luna Stage has commissioned perhaps the world's first Zoom Purim Spiel, written by playwright Jenny Lyn Bader. Luna is thrilled to make this play available for performance by any and all who want to celebrate Purim in this time of social distancing. The Whole Megillah: A Purim Spiel for Grown Ups features juicy roles for eight actors and a fun party atmosphere for audiences.

Strange Happenings at the School Library, a fantastical adventure for all ages, will stream on Luna Stage's digital platforms February 14 through February 28. Tickets are free but reservations are required, and are available at lunastage.org.

Red Bull Theater today announced that submissions will begin for their 11th annual festival of 10-minute plays of heightened language and classic themes. Six brand new plays, inspired by this year’s theme: “Restoration,” will be selected through an open submission process to premiere alongside commissions from C. A. Johnson and José Rivera.

Strange Happenings at the School Library, a fantastical adventure for all ages, will stream on Luna Stage’s digital platforms February 5 through February 28. Greek gods, fairy tale characters, and beloved figures from Alice in Wonderland don’t behave as expected in this new play by Jenny Lyn Bader and Martine Sainvil.

Inspired by a true friendship, Deborah Brevoort’s My Lord, What a Night produced by Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF will be available to stream February 3 - 14, 2021. This Video on Demand production of My Lord, What a Night is part of a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere.

West Orange-based professional theatre Luna Stage is now enrolling for virtual winter classes for youth and adults, including scene study, on-camera acting, voiceover, screenwriting, musical theatre, audition technique, playwriting, improv and more.
