Drama Works Theatre Company, a resident theatre company in Old Saybrook, will continue its 2023 season with Lucy Kirkwood's gripping and timely drama, The Children. The play is directed by Judy George and stars Brian Cunningham, Barbara Gallow, and Elise Murphy Mulligan. Performances will take place August 25th, 26th, September 1st and 2nd at 7:30 PM and August 27th at 3:00 PM.

ARC will present a live reading of The Children by Lucy Kirkwood, directed by Timothy Redmond*, as the final installment of Outside the Box: Summer Staged Reading Series. The reading will be held on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 7 pm PT at Marin Shakespeare Theatre.

In July ACTORS' READING COLLECTIVE (ARC) is presenting two premiere play readings on July 10th and July 31st at Marin Shakespeare Company. Both readings begin at 7 pm.

HighTide Rising opens the first season of work under the company's new Artistic Director Clare Slater. This intimate one-day play reading festival on 20 May will showcase new work by playwrights from the East of England.

THE CHILDREN will begin previews on Thursday, April 6 at 7:30pm; opens on Saturday, April 8 at 8:00pm and runs through Sunday, April 23, 2023 at The New Vic Theatre, 33 W. HighTide has announced the first season of work programmed by new Artistic Director Clare Slater, as she sets out a refreshed Artistic Mission for the company.  Building on HighTide's celebrated legacy as a new writing company, HighTide are reshaping to become wholly writer-centred, with a deeper, more focussed commitment to playwrights.

Ensemble Theatre Company, Santa Barbara’s professional theatre company, has announced a partnership with “One Tree Planted,” a non-profit that aims to plant trees in California. For every ticket purchased for the upcoming play, The Children, Ensemble Theatre Company will plant one tree.  

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) closes its 2022-23 season with The Children, British playwright Lucy Kirkwood’s award-winning and Tony nominated play. A riveting eco-drama infused with dark humor, The Children runs from April 27 to May 14.
