Glass Ceiling Breakers, a festival showcasing the work of women playwrights with seven one-act plays, will run the weekend of June 21 -23 at the Depot Theatre in Garrison, NY.

Opera Saratoga will present Opera-To-Go performances of Pinocchio to over 50 public and private schools throughout the region from February 25, 2019 to March 30, 2019. Each year, Opera Saratoga tours a production to schools throughout the greater Capital Region and lower Adirondack regions of NY, and the lower Hudson Valley.

Historic Hudson Valley announces the expansion of its blockbuster event Irving's 'Legend,' the dramatic retelling of Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, with more performances than ever before. Historic Hudson Valley announces the expansion of its Halloween-themed events, the largest in the tri-state area, with The Unsilent Picture, an immersive theater experience coming to Philipsburg Manor in October 2018.

An unusually diverse group of 12 highly-gifted composers has been selected to receive the 2018 Copland House Residency Awards. Ranging in age from 31 to 57, these four women and eight men from eight states come from widely-varied personal and artistic backgrounds, and have pursued divergent creative paths from concert music to jazz, acoustic to electronic, minutely-detailed to free and improvisatory, socially-engaged to abstract. They include a 2018 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, recipients of the Charles Ives Living award and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Career Grant, and two much-acclaimed concert and jazz pianists.

Penguin Rep Theatre is saddened to announce the passing of Susan (Sue) Brancato, its co-founder and long-time business manager, and mother of artistic director Joe Brancato.

Every spring for the last 40 years, something very special has happened in Rockland County: the Penguin Rep, the not-for-profit professional Equity theatre started by artistic director Joe Brancato in 1977, begins its season. This year will be their 41st season! Brancato along with with executive director Andrew M. Horn -- has grown Penguin from a small summer theatre into what the New York Times calls: 'the gutsiest little theater!' - one of the Hudson Valley's most influential nonprofit cultural institutions, and nearly half a million theater-goers have passed through its doors during that time.

The Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) Commission, which oversees the beautiful and historic 115-year-old, 432-seat theater in Town Hall of Irvington, N.Y., announced on Wednesday the launch of a two-date winter film series -- Rock the Winter Blues -- at the theater, with screenings on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, and Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, both starting at 7:30pm.
