Opera Saratoga Presents Opera-To-Go Performances Of PINOCCHIO

Opera Saratoga will present Opera-To-Go performances of Pinocchio to over 50 public and private schools throughout the region from February 25, 2019 to March 30, 2019. Each year, Opera Saratoga tours a production to schools throughout the greater Capital Region and lower Adirondack regions of NY, and the lower Hudson Valley.

Copland House Announces 2018 Residency Awards

An unusually diverse group of 12 highly-gifted composers has been selected to receive the 2018 Copland House Residency Awards. Ranging in age from 31 to 57, these four women and eight men from eight states come from widely-varied personal and artistic backgrounds, and have pursued divergent creative paths from concert music to jazz, acoustic to electronic, minutely-detailed to free and improvisatory, socially-engaged to abstract. They include a 2018 Pulitzer Prize Finalist, recipients of the Charles Ives Living award and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Career Grant, and two much-acclaimed concert and jazz pianists.

Every spring for the last 40 years, something very special has happened in Rockland County: the Penguin Rep, the not-for-profit professional Equity theatre started by artistic director Joe Brancato in 1977, begins its season. Winter Film Music Series ROCK THE WINTER BLUES Comes to Irvington

The Irvington Town Hall Theater (ITHT) Commission, which oversees the beautiful and historic 115-year-old, 432-seat theater in Town Hall of Irvington, N.Y., announced on Wednesday the launch of a two-date winter film series -- Rock the Winter Blues -- at the theater, with screenings on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, and Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, both starting at 7:30pm.
