The Realistic Joneses, Will Eno's brilliant new comedy, will play American Conservatory Theater's Geary Theater (415 Geary St., San Francisco) for a limited engagement March 9-April 3, 2016.

California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2015 season with Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz's powerfully-penned adaptation of Life Is a Dream, Pedro Calderon de la Barca's epic tale of love, power, and destiny, Life Is a Dream. Directed by Magic Theatre's Artistic Director Loretta Greco in her Cal Shakes debut, Life Is a Dream plays at the Bruns Amphitheater from July 8 through August 2.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today five of the seven productions that will comprise the lineup of the company's 49th subscription season, including the West Coast premiere of Will Eno's inventive new comedy, The Realistic Joneses; OBIE Award winner John Douglas Thompson in Terry Teachout's Satchmo at the Waldorf; the groundbreaking new musical, The Unfortunates; Eugene O'Neill's classic comedy, Ah, Wilderness!; and the world premiere of Monstress, a theatrical adaptation of short stories by San Francisco author Lysley Tenorio.

The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

The William & Eva Fox Foundation and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, have announced the ninth round of Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowships recipients. The program is designed to support actors' professional and artistic development, to enrich relationships between actors and nonprofit theatres and to ensure continued professional commitment to live theatre. Funded by the Fox Foundation and administered by TCG, the fellowship is one of only a few programs of its kind for actors in the country.

California Shakespeare Theater today announced its plans for 2015 season, which includes boldly imagined productions of two of Shakespeare's greatest works, a beautiful new adaptation of a classic from the Spanish Golden Age of Drama, and an outrageously funny romp from a modern American master. Magic Theatre will welcome back National New Play Network Playwright-in-Residence Christina Anderson for the world premiere of pen/man/ship, directed by Associate Artistic Director Ryan Guzzo Purcell. pen/man/ship runs May 21 - June 15. Anderson's latest work explores a particularly explosive time in our American history. Set in 1896, a father and son board a ship heading for Africa on a mysterious mission. On board, family secrets and true intentions are revealed, changing the course of their journey and their lives forever.
