Magic Theatre extends its legacy revival of Sam Shepard's award-winning drama Fool for Love until March 5th due to popular demand. The production was slated to close on February 26th, but five performances have been added to the end of the run after enthusiastic feedback from audiences and rave reviews in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, and San Jose Mercury News.

Fool for Love tells the story of two former lovers reunited in a run-down motel at the edge of the Mojave Desert. The pair unearth the dark secrets of their tangled relationship in a gripping rodeo of violence and primal love. This explosive and timeless masterpiece first premiered at Magic Theatre in 1983 directed by Shepard and starring Ed Harris and Kathy Baker.

"Directed by Magic artistic director Loretta Greco with careful attention to the script's detailed stage directions...and with respect and empathy for his complex characters, it's quintessential, and riveting, Shepard." - San Francisco Examiner

"It's a powerful play but a tough one to pull off, elliptical and tempestuous, but Greco and the cast fill it with passionate life." - San Jose Mercury News

"[Campbell's] May is ferocious, whether she's matching Eddie's every bone-rattling door slam, his every slobbery, howling tantrum, or she's keeping her savagery quiet and contained...You don't pity her May; you fear her. That interpretation gives the play the dynamic it needs to become a transcendent, caveat-free work of theater." - San Francisco Chronicle

Written by Sam Shepard, Directed by Loretta Greco, Scenic and Costume Design by Andrew Boyce, Lighting Design by Christopher Akerlind, Sound Design by Sara Huddleston, Props Design by Jacquelyn Scott, Fight Choreography by Dave Maier, and Dramaturgy by Sonia Fernandez
