Magic Theatre introduces an award-winning Scottish voice to the Bay Area with Linda McLean's new play Any Given Day running from March 29-April 22. Having received its world premiere in 2010 at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland, Any Given Day will make its American debut under the direction of Bay Area director Jon Tracy. A portrait of modern, urban life and the fleeting nature of love and happiness, Any Given Day is comprised of two connected stories that take place at 2pm in opposite ends of Glasgow that explore how, in a moment, everything can change.

Teenaged and wayward, Jesus of Nazareth runs away from home and journeys to the East with his friend, Abigail of Galilee, towards a spiritual haven full of Maharajas, punk rock, and some really good weed. Performances begin January 25 and run through February 19. New York-based director Daniella Topol helms this world premiere production.

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 35th Anniversary Season with PTC@PLAY, a new play festival running October 5-21 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). The Festival, with staged readings of works by established playwrights as well as new voices, features Casa Cushman, by Leigh Fondakowski in conjunction with the Tectonic Theater Project, Strongman's Ghost by Jeffrey Hatcher, What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck, How To Write A New Book For The Bible by Bill Cain and Milk Like Sugar by Kirsten Greenidge. All readings are free with curtain time at 7:00 PM.
