The Australian mainstage debut of tick, tick…BOOM! the much-loved autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, will take place at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre from 1 February 2023 before a limited season at QPAC's Playhouse in Brisbane.
Tick, Tick...BOOM! tells the story of an aspiring composer named Jon, who lives in New York City in 1990. Jon is worried he made the wrong career choice to be part of the performing arts; the audience follows Jon's journey as he decides what to do with the time he's given.
The cast, including Stephanie Beatriz, Carolina Gaitán, Olga Merediz, Jessica Darrow, Diane Guerrero, Adassa, Angie Cepeda and Mauro Castillo, will perform the songs from the Oscar®-winning film, including fan-favorite musical numbers such as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure.'

Mexican singer and actress Florencia Cuenca will bring her acclaimed project “Broadway en Spanglish” to Joe’s Pub. Florencia takes her musical upbringing and gives her favorite theater numbers a new life. Broadway en Spanglish will take place on October 3 at 7 pm (doors open at 6 pm).
