Asolo Repertory Theatre continues its season with THE LITTLE FOXES, acclaimed American playwright Lillian Hellman's captivating drama about the scheming Hubbard family and their insatiable lust for wealth. Directed by two-time Tony Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee Frank Galati, THE LITTLE FOXES previews March 15 and 16, opens March 17, and runs in rotating rep through April 15 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

Arena Stage announces full casting for Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine, winner of the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. Four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Marsha Mason, known for her performances in the films Cinderella Liberty, The Goodbye Girl, Chapter Two and Only When I Laugh, stars as Fanny Farrelly under esteemed director Jackie Maxwell, former artistic director of Canada's Shaw Festival. Set in Washington, D.C. on the brink of U.S. involvement in World War II, Hellman's suspenseful drama was hailed by the Chicago Tribune as "dramatically gripping and genuinely moving." Author Jacqueline T. Lynch has just published Comedy and Tragedy on the Mountain about the Mt. Tom Playhouse in Holyoke, Massachusetts. She interviewed me about three years ago, since I was born and raised in Holyoke and ... since I spent my childhood watching the Valley Players at Mt. Tom. The Players were my mentors for my odyssey through the acting world. It's a fascinating book. Lynch has also written the only biography in existence of movie and musical star Ann Blyth. Palm Beach Dramaworks Producing Artistic Director William Hayes announced today that the 2017-2018 season will include two world premieres and three classic plays. The season gets underway at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Friday evening, October 20, with Lillian Hellman's masterpiece, The Little Foxes (1939), in which a greedy, merciless Southern family will stop at nothing to get what they want. Up next on December 8 is the premiere of Billy and Me by Terry Teachout (author of Satchmo at the Waldorf), a play that speculates on the tempestuous friendship between playwrights Tennessee Williams and William Inge.
