Tonys season is here at last and we have photos of all the 2022 Tonys Nominees. The nominations for the biggest Broadway awards ceremony were announced last week on Monday, May 9. Leading the pack was A Strange Loop with eleven nominations, followed closely by MJ and Paradise Square, with ten nominations each.

This Week's New Classified Listings on BroadwayWorld for 5/12/2022 include new jobs for those looking to work in the theatre industry.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced new dates for its upcoming production of Epiphany, a new play by Brian Watkins, directed by Tyne Rafaeli.  The play will now begin previews Thursday, May 26 and open on Thursday, June 23 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

As the temperatures rise, the flowers bloom, and the days grow longer, we look forward to several exciting events that come with the beginning of Spring. In the case of the theatre community, theatre practitioners and fans alike are thrilled with the vast array of shows that are beginning their run on Broadway. Both theatre enthusiasts and critics alike flock to new shows, hoping to view an exciting production they will always remember. In turn, the actors, crew and creatives involved with these shows work tirelessly to open a production that will engage audiences and give themselves a sense of accomplishment. Although no shows opened during the Spring of 2021 due to the pandemic, April has already demonstrated that Broadway is back again with the opening of ten new productions! Lincoln Center Theater's production of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic The Skin of Our Teeth, opened just last night at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. The production coincides with the 125th anniversary of Mr. Wilder's birth and also marks the Beaumont and Broadway debuts of LCT Resident Director Lileana Blain-Cruz.

Lincoln Center Theater's production of the Thornton Wilder Pulitzer Prize-winning classic THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH, directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, opens tonight, Monday, April 25 at 6:45pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

The Drama League today announced the 2022 Drama League Awards Nominees and we've got all the nominations for for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Direction of a Play, Outstanding Direction of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

On Monday, April 25, Tony Award winner and Drama League Distinguished Performance Award nominee André De Shields (Hadestown) and Tony Award and Drama League Distinguished Performance Award Nominee Denée Benton (The Great Comet of 1812, 'The Gilded Age') will host the 2022 Drama League Awards nominations form the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

Diversionary announces the cast and creative team of the World Premiere Musical of EIGHTY-SIXED. Kevin Newbury will direct the World Premiere production of EIGHTY-SIXED by Jeremy J. King and Sam Salmond and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly.

On Monday, May 9 at 7:30pm two-time Tony and Olivier Award winner Patti LuPone will return to the Vivian Beaumont Theater to sing SONGS FROM A HAT, a concert to support Lincoln Center Theater’s productions and education programs.

Just last night, New York Theatre Workshop celebrated its NYTW 2022 Gala, honoring Artistic Director James C. Nicola, who will depart NYTW after 34 years on June 30, 2022. 

New York Theatre Workshop and National Black Theatre announced today casting, dates and ticket information for Dreaming Zenzile, based on the life of Miriam Makeba, by Grammy-nominated Vocalist/Composer Somi Kakoma directed by Obie Award winner, NYTW Usual Suspect & former NYTW 2050 Artistic Fellow Lileana Blain-Cruz.

Ars Nova has announced additional programming running between April 27 – June 24, 2022. All events will take place in-person at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, Manhattan) for $15 and online via Ars Nova Supra for $10.
