Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is presenting a unique event, "Continuing the Conversation: An Evening of Short Plays in Response to the Election," on Thursday, February 2 a 7:30 pm.

On Monday, October 24, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., Wordsmyth Theater Company will produce a reading of Ends of the Earth, by Lia Romeo. The reading is free and will be held at Main Street Theater, 2540 Times Blvd. 

A young woman seeks personal independence without understanding what that truly entails in August Strindberg timeless drama Miss Julie. Adapted by Craig Lucas and based on a literal translation from Anders Cato, Miss Julie will be performed at The Matthew Corozine Studio Theatre, located at 357 West 36 Street, Suite 202.

Project Y Theatre Company will open 2 weeks of new plays by women in New York City as part of the first annual Women in Theatre Festival (WiT), the festival that pushes past the notion of 'Gender Parity' by going 'Beyond Parity' with an entirely women-led lineup. For the inaugural year of the curated festival, there will be a run of new plays and performances by diverse women artists with July dates at  Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street) in the Studio Theatre.

City Theatre is proud to announce the 2016 National Award for Short Playwriting Contest winner and finalists, who will all be invited to Miami to attend the company's CityWrights Professional Weekend for Playwrights from June 23 - 26, 2016 at the EPIC Hotel.

?The Morris Museum continues its 2016 slate of lectures, performances and events in March with the 'New Plays New Jersey Reading Series.' Other programs include a tribute concert to cornet legend Bix Beiderbecke; an astronomy lecture; our popular Tea and Treasures lecture series; and a jazz concert featuring Joe Midiri and Paul Midiri,.  

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, will participate in the New Jersey Theatre Alliance's annual Stages Festival held throughout the month of March. By offering discounted tickets to shows and a free workshop for adults, and by presenting a play reading with Writers Theatre of New Jersey, Dreamcatcher will reach new audiences and spread the word about the high quality of professional theatre available in the state.
