BWW Review: CATCH ME IF YOU CAN - Georgetown Palace Crew Soars
by Lynn Beaver
- Apr 5, 2019
The fascinating autobiography CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, by Frank Abagnale, Jr., first made into a movie starring Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio is now a musical adventure. Debuting on Broadway in 2011 to mixed reviews. As a character study the story is engrossing, but as the basis for a musical, it's problematic. While it has some great moments of comedy with a touch of drama and lots of jazzy 60's music, there are certainly better crafted musicals around.

Photo Coverage: Chris Botti Plays The Kravis Center
by Stephen Sorokoff
- Mar 13, 2019
It's usually the vocalists who garner the most enthusiasm and devotion from the music loving public. The human voice and a singer's personality are able to convey emotion and musicality in a very distinct way. Then there is the the charisma and trumpet of Chris Botti to challenge that hypothesis. Chris Botti has become the largest-selling American instrumental artist because of his artistry and ability to electrify an audience with his music and his gracious and elegant personality. Early on in his concert last night Botti referred to The Kravis Center as Carnegie Hall South. With music programming like this in West Palm Beach he might have to greet a New York City audience at the legendary Concert Hall on 57th street by saying welcome to the Kravis Center North!

As part of the opening season of the Royal Opera House's newly designed Linbury Theatre, Awakening is a good indicator of the choreographic emphasis of showcasing new voices intended for this sleek and intimate space.
