Veteran dancer/choreographer Tanya Karn has joined Amazon Prime's new anthology horror series “Them: Covenant.”

Apple has released the trailer for Visible: Out on Television, a five-part documentary series that premieres exclusively on Apple TV+ February 14. 

Apple TV Plus has announced premiere dates for a slew of its upcoming series, according to Variety.

The Paley Center for Media will present A Salute to Black Achievements in Television Presented by Citi from February 1-March 1. This monthlong celebration will include an interactive exhibit focusing on comedy, spotlight BET Network's 40th anniversary, as well as family activities, education classes, and screenings featuring some of the most influential names in entertainment. Entry to the exhibit and screenings are free and open to the public.

SHOWTIME has announced that the third season of its drama series THE CHI, which will feature series creator and Emmy® winner Lena Waithe (Queen & Slim, Boomerang) in a multi-episode arc as a Chicago mayoral candidate, will debut on Sunday, July 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc., at the Television Critics Association's Winter Press Tour.

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors announced today the recipients of two of their most prominent awards - Hollywood Legacy Award and Industry Renaissance Award - which each honor outstanding accomplishments in film and television. The nonprofit Sundance Institute announced today the showcase of new independent feature films selected across all categories for the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Amazon has announced that Anika Noni Rose, Brooke Smith, P.J. Byrne, Malcolm Mays, Jeremiah Birkett and Sophie Guest will recur opposite Deborah Ayorinde and Ashley Thomas in their new anthology series Them, according to Deadline.

For the week ending Friday, Nov. 22 (week 9 of the 2019-2020 broadcast season), in live plus 3 Day lift, THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT beat its closest competition (“The Tonight Show”) by +77% in viewers (3.60m versus 2.03m). In viewers, THE LATE SHOW has won every first-run week this season. THE LATE SHOW also beat “Tonight” in both adults 25-54 ratings (0.7 vs. 0.6) and adults 18-49 viewership (580K vs. 485K).

The writer and producer of 'Queen & Slim' considers the film a form of protest art, and hopes that works like this will help protect the lives of Black people by humanizing them on screen.
