INDIGENOUS is a compilation of stories, poems, songs, and narratives that discuss the Indigenous Experience. Following suit of previous shows like BLACKOUT and In Lak' Ech, the show sets out to invoke a hard discussion by confronting issues through the vein of genuine experience. From blood quantum, stereotypes, and identity, to rituals, songs, and poems, INDIGENOUS implores the audience to absorb some of the most authentic, beautiful, uncomfortable, ugly truths about who and what 'America' really is.

I've been to movies where the audience interacts with the actors on screen, but never have I been to a play like that. Surprisingly, it wasn't disruptive. It almost felt natural. The patron interaction to 'The Foreigner' was nearly as comical as the play. Director Miguel E. Rodriguez warned that (paraphrasing here) if we have half as much watching as he did directing, then we were about to have a fun night.

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the World Premiere of Continuing the Conversation: An Evening of Short Plays Inspired by Current Events. The plays, by writers Suzanne Bradbeer, Richard Dresser, Steve Harper, Dania Ramos, Lia Romeo and David Lee White, all deal with themes that are in the public consciousness right now. Dreamcatcher has taken what was a one-night event last season and given it a place on the mainstage this spring. Continuing the Conversation runs April 26 - May 13, 2018.

The Second City announces the extension of The Second City's She the People: Girlfriends' Guide to Sisters Doing It for Themselves, a show the Chicago Tribune calls "empowering entertainment" and the Sun-Times raves is "one of the funniest revues Second City has produced in the past 20 years."
