This strictly limited engagement will play through Sunday, June 11th only.

UMass Lowell alumna, Bonnie Comley, and her husband Stewart F. Lane hosted an evening on broadway to celebrate the university, their latest mega hit, Sunset Boulevard at the Palace Theater and the 10th anniversary of the 500 seat Comley-Lane Theatre. UMass Lowell, Special Advisor, Diane Earl, organized the group of alumni and friends to gather for conversation and dinner at Sardi's before heading to the Palace Theater to enjoy Sunset Boulevard.

Just last night, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs gathered across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

The Byrd Hoffman Water Mill Foundation celebrated its 23rd Annual Summer Benefit & Auction, a one-of-a-kind evening bringing together over 1,000 guests from the worlds of theater, art, performance, fashion, design, and society at The Watermill Center on Saturday, July 30. The event, entitled FADA: HOUSE OF MADNESS, featured new works by Watermill's International Summer Program participants that came from over 25 countries to create installations and performances throughout the eight and-a-half acre grounds. This year, The Watermill Center honored Madame Giancarla Berti.

The 69th annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival will begin next week in Scotland. Opening up the Spotlites International Theatre in their new location at the corner of Hanover Street in the beautiful building of the Royal Society of Edinburgh is a new musical called, Carmen High. Carmen High is conceived and directed by Stephanie Vlahos, based on the Bizet opera, Carmen. Carmen High is a theatrical mash up of opera, hip hop, original songs, and classical music that reinvents the opera of Carmen as the real American high school experience told through the authentic voices of gifted teenage performers.

Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein was recently honored at the 3rd Annual Logo Trailblazer Honors. In his acceptance speech, Fierstein took the opportunity to speak to the LGBT community in the wake of the Orlando shooting, telling the community to 'put your arms around each other' and reinforcing that the community is 'surrounded' with love and acceptance. Just yesterday, the Actors Fund officially renamed their Manhattan residence, "The Aurora," (West 57th and 10th Avenue) at a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The residence will now be called "The Dorothy Ross Friedman Residence."
