The Watermill Center held its annual summer benefit on Saturday, July 28th. Despite a downpour of rain, the spectacular event went on as planned with performance art and installations. Watermill International Summer Program Participants from over 25 countries created eight acres of installations and performances throughout the grounds of Watermill Center. The funds raised will support The Watermill Center's International Summer Program and year round Artist Residency Program, providing a unique environment for young and emerging artists to explore and develop their work. At this year's ARTrageous Gala, more than 500 supporters gathered at Cipriani Wall Street to raise funds and awareness for the over 16,000 foster children in New York City. The money raised from the ARTrageous event benefits Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families (EGSCF). For more than 85 years, this non-profit organization has been serving and protecting children residing in foster care in New York City. Over the past decade ARTrageous has been a huge success, raising more than $15 million. Today, EGSCF is one of the top Foster Care Agencies in New York City.

A kick-off party for ARTrageous was held at the Harmonie Club on Monday hosted by Stewart F. Lane & Bonnie Comley, and Linda Argila with special guest speaker, Robert Wilson. ARTraegous is a unique fundraising event benefiting foster children through art. Kids residing in foster care and a kids committee collaborate with a dynamic group of artists to help create artwork for auction. The artwork created, along with donated works of art and luxury items will be sold in a silent and live auction at the ARTrageous Gala Dinner and Art Auction.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Dicapo Opera Theatre, which is presenting The Most Happy Fella. This May-September romance features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony-Award winner Frank Loesser, best known for Guys and Dolls and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The Most Happy Fela is directed by Michael Capasso and the conductor is Pacien Mazzagatti. Choreography is by Francine Harmon, set design by John Farrell, costume design by Julie Wyma and lighting design by Susan Roth.

Lane and holocaust survivor and owner of Martin Greenfield Clothiers, Martin Greenfield.

The Dicapo Opera Theatre ends the season with the Dicapo Opera Children's Chorus Concert. The concert included songs of many styles, showcasing the gifted voices of the children's chorus lead by Artistic Director, Diane Martindale. Founded in 1982 by Ms. Martindale, the Dicapo Children's Chorus offers talented children the opportunity to perform in several Dicapo Opera Theatre productions throughout the season. This season the children's chorus was featured in the productions of Puccini's 'La Boheme' and Menotti's 'The Saint of Bleeker Street'.

The Theatre Museum paid tribute to legendary Broadway lyricist Sheldon Harnick -- the Museums 2011 Career Achievement Award recipient. The award was presented from longtime colleague Hal Prince, winner of an unprecedented 21 Tony Awards.

The evening celebrated the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honored decades of support by Interpublic Group.

Italian-American composer Gian Carlo Menotti's The Saint of Bleeker Street, opened at The Dicapo Opera on Saturday night. The Saint of Bleeker Street, written in English and dating from 1954, is the story of a simple young girl in New York's Little Italy who is blessed (or afflicted) with the stigmata and hears voices and sees visions.

A world premiere screening of the Sondheim: The Birthday Concert was held at the NYIT Auditorium on November 1, 2010 and attended by cast, crew and friends. The star-studded event, Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, celebrating the 80th birthday of the Broadway and film legend Stephen Sondheim with performances of his music and songs by some of the world's biggest talents, will make its debut on PBS stations across the country on November 24th, thanks to the Emmy Award-winning producer Ellen M. Krass and multiple Tony Award-winning co-producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley in association with Thirteen/WNET and Image Entertainment. The production, which is hosted by David Hyde Pierce, will air at 9PM ET (check local listings).
