MOTOWN: THE MUSICAL opened last night, April 14, 2013, at Broadway's The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46 Street). After the show, the cast and creative team celebrated and BroadwayWorld.com was there to join in the party fun. Raise a glass!

A Christmas Story, The Musical arrives on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre just in time for the 2012 holiday season. Based on the 1983 movie perennial, the musical plays and eight-week limited engagement through December 30. The show opened on November 19th and BroadwayWorld.com was there! Celebrity Autobiography with Scott Adsit, Alec Baldwin, Christie Brinkley, Illeana Douglas, Jerry O'Connell, Eugene Pack, and Dayle Reyfel played to sold-out houses at The John Drew Theater in Guild Hall over the weekend of August 24th. The Watermill Center held its annual summer benefit on Saturday, July 28th. Despite a downpour of rain, the spectacular event went on as planned with performance art and installations. Watermill International Summer Program Participants from over 25 countries created eight acres of installations and performances throughout the grounds of Watermill Center. The funds raised will support The Watermill Center's International Summer Program and year round Artist Residency Program, providing a unique environment for young and emerging artists to explore and develop their work. At this year's ARTrageous Gala, more than 500 supporters gathered at Cipriani Wall Street to raise funds and awareness for the over 16,000 foster children in New York City. The money raised from the ARTrageous event benefits Edwin Gould Services for Children and Families (EGSCF). For more than 85 years, this non-profit organization has been serving and protecting children residing in foster care in New York City. Over the past decade ARTrageous has been a huge success, raising more than $15 million. Today, EGSCF is one of the top Foster Care Agencies in New York City.

A kick-off party for ARTrageous was held at the Harmonie Club on Monday hosted by Stewart F. Lane & Bonnie Comley, and Linda Argila with special guest speaker, Robert Wilson. ARTraegous is a unique fundraising event benefiting foster children through art. Kids residing in foster care and a kids committee collaborate with a dynamic group of artists to help create artwork for auction. The artwork created, along with donated works of art and luxury items will be sold in a silent and live auction at the ARTrageous Gala Dinner and Art Auction.

The supernatural power of love arrived on Broadway, last night April 24th, at the Opening Night of GHOST The Musical. After the show, the cast and creative team headed over to the hotspot club, Tunnel, to celebrate the show's opening and BroadwayWorld was there!

A Streetcar Named Desire starring Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella and Wood Harris as Mitch opened last night on Broadway for a limited run through to July 22, 2012. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Dicapo Opera Theatre, which is presenting The Most Happy Fella. This May-September romance features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony-Award winner Frank Loesser, best known for Guys and Dolls and How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. The Most Happy Fela is directed by Michael Capasso and the conductor is Pacien Mazzagatti. Choreography is by Francine Harmon, set design by John Farrell, costume design by Julie Wyma and lighting design by Susan Roth.

The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene held their annual Cabaret Dinner November 22 at Bohemian National Hall. The gala honored Five-time Tony Award-winning Broadway producer and critically acclaimed author and playwright, Stewart F. Lane and holocaust survivor and owner of Martin Greenfield Clothiers, Martin Greenfield.

The Dicapo Opera Theatre opened its 30th season with Giacomo Puccini's Tosca. The sold out production was followed by a gala dinner at The Columbus Club.

The Dicapo Opera Theatre ends the season with the Dicapo Opera Children's Chorus Concert. The concert included songs of many styles, showcasing the gifted voices of the children's chorus lead by Artistic Director, Diane Martindale. Founded in 1982 by Ms. Martindale, the Dicapo Children's Chorus offers talented children the opportunity to perform in several Dicapo Opera Theatre productions throughout the season. This season the children's chorus was featured in the productions of Puccini's 'La Boheme' and Menotti's 'The Saint of Bleeker Street'.

Friars Freddie Roman, Stewie Stone & Irv Welzer, Dick Capri held a mini roast for Friar Stewart F. Lane to kick off the release of his new book Jews On Broadway at The Friars Club on Wednesday night.

If I Were a Rich Man, Little Tin Box, Til Tomorrow, She Loves Me, Will He Like Me and Sunrise, Sunset are just a few of the tunes that were be brought to life on Monday, May 16, 2011, at New York's legendary National Arts Club. The Theatre Museum paid tribute to legendary Broadway lyricist Sheldon Harnick -- the Museums 2011 Career Achievement Award recipient. The award was presented from longtime colleague Hal Prince, winner of an unprecedented 21 Tony Awards.

Last night, May 2, Steven Reineke led a roster of artists including Tyne Daly, Tom Wopat, Gregg Edelman, Aaron Lazar, Tony DeSare, Michele Lee, Jamie Barton, Christine Ebersole, Kelli O'Hara, Maurice Hines, Cartier Williams, Randy Redd, Zak Resnick, Matt Dengler and special guest Angela Lansbury in the New York Pops' 28th Birthday Gala concert, Celebrate Hope. The evening celebrated the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honored decades of support by Interpublic Group.

A special fundraiser was held at Lincoln Center on April 5th for The National Theatre of Great Britain. Sir Nicholas Hytner, Gala Chairs Sir Nigel and Lady Sheinwald, Sir Mark and Lady Lyall Grant hosted a celebration to announce the arrival of War Horse, one of the greatest successes from The National Theatre of Great Britain.

Italian-American composer Gian Carlo Menotti's The Saint of Bleeker Street, opened at The Dicapo Opera on Saturday night. The Saint of Bleeker Street, written in English and dating from 1954, is the story of a simple young girl in New York's Little Italy who is blessed (or afflicted) with the stigmata and hears voices and sees visions.

A world premiere screening of the Sondheim: The Birthday Concert was held at the NYIT Auditorium on November 1, 2010 and attended by cast, crew and friends. The star-studded event, Sondheim! The Birthday Concert, celebrating the 80th birthday of the Broadway and film legend Stephen Sondheim with performances of his music and songs by some of the world's biggest talents, will make its debut on PBS stations across the country on November 24th, thanks to the Emmy Award-winning producer Ellen M. Krass and multiple Tony Award-winning co-producers Stewart F. Lane and Bonnie Comley in association with Thirteen/WNET and Image Entertainment. The production, which is hosted by David Hyde Pierce, will air at 9PM ET (check local listings).

Dicapo continues its 2010-11 season with a presentation of Puccini's beloved La bohème on October 15th thru October 23rd. This production is directed by Michael Capasso with sets by John Farrell, costumes by Angela Huff, and lighting by Susan Roth. Acclaimed conductor Samuel Bill leads the ensemble.
