Epic Theatre Company continues its season of "Conviction" with a sophisticated and sharp comedy about four famous women in the midst of a revolution.  Set during the Reign of Terror, Olympe de Gouges, Charlotte Corday, Marianne Angelle, and Marie Antoinette banter, scheme, plan a murder, and debate their part in history in this fantastical and fabulous play about what we can do to change the world around us and whether we have the conviction to do it.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will present the world premiere of The Heath by Lauren Gunderson, one of the most produced playwrights in America (Silent Sky, I and You, Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley) from February 13 to March 10 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre at Liberty Hall, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

The University of SC Dept. of Theatre and Dance will present Samuel Beckett's influential masterpiece Waiting for Godot February 7-17, 2019 at the Center for Performance Experiment. 

South Coast Repertory Artistic Director David Ivers and Managing Director Paula Tomei today announced the lineup for the 2019 Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The annual showcase of new works kicks off on April 26 with a concert reading of a new musical adaptation of Prelude to a Kiss, directed by Ivers in his directorial debut as SCR's artistic director.

Boston Ballet major gifts officer Laura Frye, who previously served as Director of Development at Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) for three seasons, will return February 19 to steer the not-for-profit theatre's fundraising efforts, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Aurora Theatre Company and its Board of Directors today announced that Josh Costello will become the company's next artistic director. Costello will succeed Tom Ross who last May announced his July 2019 departure after 15 years as in the role.

Penguin Productions opens its first production of 2019 with I and You by Lauren Gunderson, directed by Shana Bestock. I and You will run two weekends, February 2-9, 2019, performing in the Isaac Studio at Taproot Theatre in the Greenwood neighborhood of Seattle. Lauren Gunderson's play 'I and You' is now playing at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken. Under director Chris O'Connor's steady hands this is a tender intelligent production with articulate, vital, complex, and achingly vulnerable performances. It will appeal to teens and adults.

Playhouse on Park has cast Lauren Gunderson's The Revolutionists, a grand and dream-tweaked comedy about art and activism, feminism and terrorism, violence and legacy, and changing the world. This provocative play runs February 20-March 10; opening night, including a complimentary wine and cheese reception, is set for February 22.
