THEATRE LAWRENCE announces a brand new season filled with surprises, a musical favorite, and some brand new shows to tempt you.

Portland Center Stage at The Armory announced their 2019-2020 season, the first that new Artistic Director Marissa Wolf has planned for the company.

While director Heidi Powers knew about Ada Byron's Lovelace contribution to the birth of the modern computer, she was stunned to discover that not only was Ada Lord Byron's daughter, but that she was also an accomplished poet and musician. "I love how she tried to embrace both her artistic and analytical sides," Powers said. "I think that humanity's most powerful inventions come from the combination of the arts and sciences."

Join BPA this March for Lauren Gunderson's THE REVOLUTIONISTS, a bold, brave and blisteringly funny new work about feminism, legacy and standing up for one's beliefs. Four beautiful, badass women lose their heads in this irreverent, girl-powered comedy set during the French Revolution's Reign of Terror. Playwright Olympe de Gouges, assassin Charlotte Corday, former queen (and fan of ribbons) Marie Antoinette, and Haitian rebel Marianne Angelle hang out, murder Marat, and try to beat back the extremist insanity in 1793 Paris.

Tacoma Little Theatre's Off the Shelf program is excited to present Lauren Gunderson's, The Revolutionists, directed by Jennifer York and featuring a powerhouse of Tacoma actors. This production will play Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 7:30pm.

Utopia Theatre Project presents the world premiere of Anne Yumi Kobori's original play, Every Day Alice. Directed by Utopia's Artistic Director, Maryssa Wanlass, Every Day Alice reimagines familiar characters from Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan in a modern day setting and explores the themes of growing up, identity and the fine line between imagination and delusion.

The Highlander Theatre Company, the resident theatre company of Somerville High School will present Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson on Thursday, March 21 at 7pm and Friday, March 22 at 7pm in the Centennial Auditorium at Somerville High School, 81 Highland Ave.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced the titles for its 2019-2020 Season at The Otto M. Budig Theater in an event on March 6.  This season will feature Women, on stage and off, in The Season of the Woman.  CSC's 2018-2019 Season is generously sponsored by The Otto M. Budig Family Foundation, The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Foundation, The Shubert Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, and ArtsWave and all productions will feature Cincinnati Shakespeare Company's Resident Company of Actors. 

The American Theatre Critics Association (ATCA) has selected six finalists for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg / American Theatre Critics Association 2019 New Play Award, recognizing playwrights for the best scripts that premiered professionally outside New York City during 2018.

Sean Daniels, who in his youth was inspired toward a career in theatre after attending Arizona Theatre Company productions with his Mesa-based family, has come full circle by being named ATC's new Artistic Director.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) today announced the 2019-20 Season, which features seven plays by women, a world premiere historical drama, two East Coast premieres, and three provocative plays with music, according to Artistic Director Sean Daniels and Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas.

Playwright Kara Lee Corthron is the recipient of the 2019 William Inge Theatre Festival's Otis Guernsey New Voices in the American Theatre Award, which recognizes substantial early contributions to the contemporary American stage.

Theatrical Outfit will enter a new era when Artistic Director Tom Key exits his longstanding position in June of 2020.  The Theatre's Board of Directors announced Key's plans to retire along with the announcement of the launch of a nationwide search to name his successor by the opening of the 2019-2020 season.

Hampstead Theatre has announced its next two productions and full casting for Wilderness.

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces its 45th season, opening with Mother of the Maid by Jane Anderson, directed by BJ Jones and featuring Kate Fry. The season continues with the World Premiere of The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley, a companion piece to Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon, directed by Jessica Thebus; followed by the World Premiere of How A Boy Falls, by Steven Dietz, directed by BJ Jones; and Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel. Closing out the season is Songs for Nobodies by Joanna Murray-Smith, directed by Rob Lindley, featuring Bethany Thomas.

Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the upcoming 2019-2020 theatrical season will include August Wilson's Fences, directed by Timothy Douglas and starring Craig Wallace and Erika Rose; Silent Sky, an inspiring drama about trail-blazing female astronomers, directed by Seema Sueko; the classic musical comedy Guys and Dolls, directed by Peter Flynn; and A Christmas Carol featuring Craig Wallace reprising the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.

William Shakespeare's Richard II produced by Orlando Shakes in partnership with UCF runs from March 27 - April 28, 2019. MRT now presents the world premiere of Gunderson's THE HEATH, a heartwarming tribute to the memory of her late grandfather. Miranda Barnett and George Judy inhabit their real-life counterparts with care and humanity.
