Ambassador Theatre Group and NETworks Presentations LLC just announced that Laura Michelle Kelly (Anna Leonowens) and Jose Llana (King of Siam) will lead the national tour of the Lincoln Center Theater production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I. Joan Almedilla will play Lady Thiang with Brian Rivera as Kralahome, Manna Nichols as Tuptim, Kavin Panmeechao as Lun Tha, Anthony Chan as Prince Chulalongkorn, Graham Montgomery as Louis Leonowens and Baylen Thomas as Captain Orton/Sir Edward Ramsey. The tour will launch in Providence, RI October 30-November 6, 2016, and will play multi-week and single week engagements throughout the 2016-17 touring season and beyond. The question was answered at Feinstein's/54 Below's Broadway Sings Their Own concert on August 29, as eight vastly disparate performers stepped into the spotlight, each to perform two original songs they wrote themselves, stripped of characters to hide behind.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, after a year and a half of performances, Broadway's FINDING NEVERLAND will play its final performance at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater today, August 21, 2016. The production will have played 33 previews and 565 performances and will transfer to London's West End to open in the spring of 2017.

Best known for producing Broadway mega-hits RENT, AVENUE Q, and, IN THE HEIGHTS, McCollum is also know for taking chances on smaller shows and shepherding them to Broadway.
