This show gives a glimpse of Mr. Waits' life growing up in Buffalo, New York with his own MAMA ROSE, Rose Waits. In this dark comedy you'll find out that this 'southern belle' could have ruled the world...if they had only let her.

DTC's THE BOOK CLUB PLAY Begins Tonight

Dallas Theater Center heads back to the Kalita Humphreys Theater with The Book Club Play by Karen Zacarias. Meredith McDonough, who previously worked on the new hit musical Fly By Night, returns to make her DTC directorial debut in this comedy about books and the people who love them. The Book Club Play begins previews tonight, January 1, 2015 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, February 1.

Following a wildly successful run at the renowned La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York City in February, director Romana Soutus is teaming up with Juno-nominated musician Christopher Weatherstone to present Drink With Death, a morbid cabaret where the dead rise again to tell the stories of their untimely ends through song. Featuring the best and brightest of Toronto's vibrant indie folk scene, this unexpectedly humorous and beautiful show runs today, October 23-30 (Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8pm) at the legendary downtown Toronto venue, The Cameron House.

Aurora Theatre Company Extends TALLEY'S FOLLY Through 5/24/2015

Due to popular pre-sale demand, a year in advance, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will extend Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning TALLEY'S FOLLY, the second fully staged production to be performed in the company's second stage performance space, Harry's UpStage. The company will add a sixth show to the existing performance weeks and will extend the original run dates an additional two weeks. Aurora Theatre Company pays homage to Lanford Wilson with "The Talley Trilogy." Acclaimed Bay Area actress and director Joy Carlin (After the Revolution, Body Awareness, Jack Goes Boating, Awake and Sing!) directs the first entry in this series of three interrelated plays.

Godspell, produced by Egads! Theatre Company comes to the Off Center Theatre located in Crown Center in Kanas City, Mo. Steven Eubank, Artistic Director of Egads! Theatre Company directs with Associate Director Tyler Parsons the musical by Stephen Schwartz and a book by John-Michael Tabelak. Various touring companies have performed the play that opened Off-Broadway on May 17, 1971. A Broadway revival ran from October 13, 2011 through June 24, 2012.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that A.C.T.'s Tony Award-winning theater and training institution has launched The San Francisco Semester, an all-new study away program bringing undergraduate students from across the country into an active, ongoing engagement with the eclectic and energetic arts community of San Francisco and the Bay Area. With a focus on the practical aspects of the craft of acting and life in the professional theater, the 15-week program features a 17-credit core curriculum enhancing students' undergraduate study with rigorous, upper-level classes in acting styles, voice/dialects, physical theater, and devised (student-created) work. A.C.T. joins the ranks of such other distinguished study away programs as La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and the National Theater Institute. The inaugural San Francisco Semester begins September 2014.

La MaMa to Present Kinding Sindaw's PAGBABALIK, 10/7

La MaMa ETC presents resident artist Kinding Sindaw's production of Pagbabalik, a piece that explores the migratory experience of displaced indigenous peoples of the Southern Philippines, on October 7, 2013 at 7 pm for a one night fundraising gala at La MaMa Club, 74 East 4th Street, between 2nd Avenue and Bowery. The performance runs 90 minutes and includes live music, dance, storytelling, and videography.
