Lyric Theatre Hammersmith has announced its 2023 season! Learn more about the highlights here!

Production images have been released today for the world premiere of Mike Bartlett’s new comedy and irreverent satire Scandaltown directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre ahead of opening night for press on Thursday 14 April. 

The first image has been released today of the full company of Scandaltown, a brand new comedy and irreverent satire by award-winning writer Mike Bartlett (BBC's Doctor Foster) directed by the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre's Artistic Director Rachel O'Riordan (Olivier Award winning Killology) who reunite following their critically acclaimed 2020 revival of Love, Love, Love.

Full casting is announced today for Scandaltown, a brand new comedy by Mike Bartlett (Doctor Foster, King Charles III) directed by the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre's Artistic Director Rachel O'Riordan.

Running With Lions is an intergenerational family drama about love, loss and hope: following three generations of women, it explores what it means to allow those we love to be themselves. The production stars Bridgerton’s Ruby Barker, alongside stars of stage and screen Wil Johnson, Nickcolia King-N’da, Suzette Llewellyn and Velile Tshabalala.

The Old Vic today announced the two new specially commissioned monologues for Queers, curated by Mark Gatiss, to mark Pride Month. I Threw It, written by Travis Alabanza and performed by Kim Tatum AKA Mzz Kimberley, and Bee, by Jade Anouka and performed by Pearl Mackie, will be directed by Sean Linnen. 

Gate Generations is the creative digital response to the theatre's extraordinary 40-year history from the venue's Young Associates.  It offers an unprecedented opportunity to glimpse into the Gate's celebrated archive with five intriguing vignettes inspired by some of its landmark productions. 

From the team who created the Gate's critically acclaimed production of Dear Elizabeth, Letters is a funny and often moving reflection on the global situation we find ourselves in.
