Latino Theater Company, in association with San Francisco's Magic Theatre and resident home company Campo Santo, presents the newest work by MacArthur Foundation “Genius Grant” recipient Luis Alfaro.

Today, The Lorraine Hansberry Initiative announced their plans for programming in Los Angeles that will take place during the summer, including two special installations of sculptor Alison Saar’s statue of Hansberry at Gloria Molina Grand Park from June 14th – June 30th and at the A C Bilbrew Library from July 7th – July 31st.

Presented in partnership with El Teatro Campesino and directed by Kinan Valdez, ADIÓS MAMÁ CARLOTA will run from April 3 - 28 2019 at San Jose Stage Company (490 South 1st Street, San Jose, CA, 95113). Center Theatre Group will offer Spanish-language translations of the 8 p.m. performance of Luis Valdez's "Valley of the Heart" on Friday, December 7 at the Mark Taper Forum. Each show will be performed in English with Spanish translations running simultaneously on open caption screens. Audience members wishing to view the open captions should request to be seated in the captioning area when purchasing tickets.

Following the January announcement of Founding Artistic Director Meredith Hagedorn's desire to step away from the Dragon Productions Theatre Company to pursue new opportunities, the Dragon Board of Directors, helmed by President Jenny Hollingworth, has been involved in a search for a new Artistic Director to shape the artistic vision of the Dragon in 2019 and beyond. After several months of interviewing a number of incredibly qualified Bay Area candidates, the Dragon Board is pleased to announce that beginning in 2019, the team of Alika Spencer-Koknar and her husband Bora "Max" Koknar will step into the leadership role as co-Artistic Directors.
