The Artistic Home Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra announced today that the company's production of By the Bog of Cats, by Marina Carr, will extend its run by an additional three weeks to meet the overwhelming demand for seats. The Chicago Tribune's Kerry Reid said of it 'Mossman and his cast dig into the textures of Carr's script with gusto and sensitivity. Collins gives a bravura performance.' The Artistic Home's production, which opened to the press on February 13,  is directed by Jeff Award winner and ensemble member John Mossman.

The Brown Paper Box Co. has announced the cast for their upcoming production of William Shakespeare's JULIUS CAESAR. The show opens Saturday, March 5, and runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM through April 3 at The Greenhouse Theater Center in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood (2257 N. Lincoln Avenue). A preview is also scheduled for Friday, March 4, along with a special Monday night performance on March 7, both of which begin at 7:30. 'Much Ado' represents Arc's fifth year in residence at Shakespeare on the Ridge, and will be performed today, July 12th through August 3rd, 2014, Saturday and Sunday evenings at 7pm at Ridgeville Park, 908 Seward St in Evanston, IL. Admission is free. The show will run approximately 90 minutes.

SCERA's Acting Up Sweeps 2013 Musical Theater Competition of America

For the fifth consecutive year, Acting Up, SCERA's high school performing company, has taken the Overall Sweepstakes Award at the Musical Theater Competition of America. They vied with hundreds of competitors for the award, including theater groups and performers from Connecticut, Arizona, California, Washington, and Canada.
