The Clive Barnes Foundation, today announced finalists for the 10th Annual Clive Barnes Awards, recognizing excellence in Theater and Dance. According to the New York Times, the list includes Celia Rose Gooding (Jagged Little Pill), Sophia Anne Caruso (Beetlejuice), Andrew Burnap (The Inheritance), and Christopher Livingston (The Great Society) in the theatre category, and India Bradley, Roman Mejia, Kellie Drobnick, and Aran Bell in the dance category.

Puerto Rican singer and dancer Ana Isabelle will play Rosalia, a shark who works with Maria and Dance Moms' Maddie Ziegler has been cast as part of the Jets. They have also cast over 40 performers set as Sharks and Jets!

Twyla Tharp Dance performs the New York City premiere of Minimalism and Me, a revisiting of Tharp's seminal early works, at The Joyce's Chelsea home from November 14 - December 9.

The soundtrack LP, featuring a combination of original songs and vintage hits from the early 1960s, sold 32 million copies and spent four months on top of the best-selling album charts. Looking at the film from today's perspective, 30 years later, one wonders why it was so big. Though many remember the film as a charming coming-of-age story, critics called it 'schmaltzy,' citing the formulaic portrayal of its stock characters spouting trite dialog.
