After receiving more than 3,000 nominations once BroadwayWorld.com announced it's first-ever New York Cabaret Awards in early October, BWW is now pleased to announce it's final nominations ballot in 20 categories. Now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians and shows of the year. Voting will continue until December 31 and winners will be announced in early January.
On November 5, the Theatre at Saint Peters (Home of the York Theatre) Lexington Avenue at 54th Street presented the songs of Larry Kerchner ("Somewhere in Time") sung by some of today's most formidable singers: Hilary Kole, Laurel Masse, Kevin Spirtas, Stacy Sullivan, Jeff Harnar, Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano, Karen Oberlin, Sidney Myer, Raissa Katona Bennett, Jill O'Hara and a host of others.

So many cabaret shows, so little time . . . to write reviews that is. During his almost two years as a cabaret reviewer, BroadwayWorld.com critic Stephen Hanks managed to do a pretty good job of writing critiques during a show's run or soon after the run ended. 48 solo singers are competing in the fifth annual "MetroStar Talent Challenge" at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. The seven-week, jury-and audience-voted competition completes three weeks of trials next Monday July 23 (showtime at 7pm), after which the contest will announce the Top 18 contestants who will advance to the next round.
After eight critically acclaimed months at Feinstein's, performing every Thursday night at 11 PM to delighted crowds of late night musical theater fans, Scott Siegel's Broadway Ballyhoo will take the stage for one week only during prime time with five entirely different 8 PM shows from Tuesday, July 17 thru Saturday, July 21.

Artists in Partnership (AIP), a non-profit cultural arts organization, will host its 10th Annual Cabaret Festival today, May 16 through May 20 at the Long Beach Public Library, 111 West Park Avenue, Long Beach, NY. All performances are free to the public. The festival will be a celebration of the cabaret genre honoring the Great American Songbook with performances by renowned local and New York City-based artists.
