Theatre Royal Bath today announces four additional productions - Vienna 1934-Munich 1938, The Life I Lead, Trying It On and The Man in the White Suit, to complete its Summer Season 2019 programme and further casting with Katherine Parkinson, Janie Dee as well as Vanessa Redgrave, Miles Jupp and David Edgar among the stars set to take to the stage in both treasured classics and acclaimed new works.
Stephen Mangan and Kara Tointon Will Lead THE MAN IN THE WHITE SUIT

Producers today announced that a stage adaptation by Sean Foley of the classic Ealing Studios comedy The Man in the White Suit, will play a three week season at Theatre Royal Bath, prior to receiving its world premiere at Wyndhams Theatre in preview from September 26th with an opening night of October 8th. The production will be directed by Sean Foley and will star Stephen Mangan as Sidney Stratton and Kara Tointon as Daphne Birnley. Set and costume design will be by Michael Taylor.

Great Performances presents more of the Great White Way's brightest stars with a new "Broadway's Best" lineup premiering Fridays, November 2-23 at 9 p.m. on PBS (check local listings). Returning for a second year, this fall's lineup includes the beloved musicals "An American in Paris The Musical" and Rodgers & Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music," as well as documentaries about the making of John Leguizamo's Tony-nominated play "Latin History for Morons" and 21-time Tony-winning director and producer Harold Prince. All programs will be available to stream the following day via pbs.org/gperf and PBS apps.

One of the true masterpieces of modern cinema, Federico Fellini's 1957 Oscar-winning film, LA STRADA (The Road), is being brought life on stage in a brand new adaptation directed by Olivier Award nominee Sally Cookson, with music composed by Benji Bower. The production received its world premiere at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, followed by a national tour. The show opened on 30 May in its London premiere at The Other Palace, the newest addition to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Theatre Group, where it will run until 8 July 2017. Patrick Hamilton's Gaslight had its premiere in Richmond Theatre in 1938 and so it seems suitable for it to end its UK tour in the same setting. Set firmly in an era of Victorian melodrama; Bella Manningham is increasingly convinced that she is going mad. She loses jewelry and finds photo frames in the piano stool. Her husband Jack only seems to encourage this belief, systematically chipping away at her confidence and independence. One night, a mysterious visit from a detective reveals that the truth is very different. Bella is not going mad and her husband is certainly not who he claims to be.
