Gibney Center has revealed the 2023-24 presentation season, featuring Gibney Center debuts of VIM VIGOR, 2nd Best Dance Company, and Rosy Simas Danse, plus more.

The Lotus Glow double disc collection features an eclectic range of guests, including Rihanna and Ariana Grande songwriter KIRBY, recent Beyonce collaborator Leven Kali, who co-wrote and co-produced several tracks on Renaissance, R&B poet & musical powerhouse Jamila Woods, and UK neo-soul artist Aaron Taylor.

“Adonis” is a song about no-good boyfriends which Adi describes as “an intervention from your girlfriend.” Sonically, the track blends soul-powered vocals with trumpet-laced jazz rhythms and retro-futurist production that has become a hallmark of Adi’s production work with her partner Morgan Wiley under the moniker Nightshade.

Adi Oasis (fka Adeline) has released her debut single & official video 'Red To Violet', a soulful, politically-charged ode to women of color for which she teamed up with R&B poet & musician Jamila Woods – calling it a “dream collaboration”.  Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee has been meeting all year to discuss the eligibility of the 2021-22 Broadway productions all leading up to Monday's big announcement... the Tony nominations. Need a recap before the nominations announcement? Below, we've rounded up all rulings from all four meeting. Apart from these specific decisions, all other eligibility rulings were consistent with opening night billing.

 The Tony Awards Administration Committee met yesterday to confirm the eligibility status of 12 Broadway productions for the 2021-2022 season.  This was the first time the Tony Awards Administration Committee met to decide the eligibility for the 75th Annual Tony Awards. The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

The 2021 BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival will also offer a movie night featuring the 1973 documentary Wattstax, which highlights the 1972 Watts Summer Festival, as well as an evening dedicated to dance co-conceived by Tatiana and BRIC featuring the Passion Fruit Dance Company with DJ sets by Soul Summit Dance Party and St James Joy. 

The 2021 season of the free festival will kick off at 7:30pm on Saturday, July 31st (doors open at 6:00pm) with R&B singer/songwriter Ari Lennox as the headliner, Brooklyn-based rapper and poet KAMAUU and Jamaican-bred R&B artist Nesta as openers.

The evening starts at 8pm at BRIC House a?" one of the best spaces for live music in Brooklyn a?" with a performance by MC and poet KAMAUU. 

BRIC, the pioneering Brooklyn arts and media institution, continues the 2020 season of BRIC House Sessions on March 19 with Nigerian music icon Orlando Julius. One of the founders and leading musicians of Afropop, Julius comes to BRIC to give a rare U.S. performance. The evening starts at 7pm in the BRIC House Ballroom  a?" one of the best spaces for live music in Brooklyn a?" with DJ Nenim. Live performances kick off at 8pm with Brooklyn afro-funksters Kaleta & Super Yamba Band. 

BRIC, the pioneering Brooklyn arts and media institution, begins the 2020 season of BRIC House Sessions on March 5 with a Latinx indie double-bill featuring Latin GRAMMY Award-nominated singer-songwriter Alex Anwandter and Brooklyn-based global pop darlings Balún. A leading name in South America's new vibrant indie pop scene, Anwandter comes to perform his critically-acclaimed album Latinoamericana. The concert begins at 8pm in the BRIC House Ballroom a?" one of the best spaces for live music in Brooklyn a?" with a performance by Brooklyn-via-San-Juan 'dreambow' pioneers, Balún.

Last month East London artist KOJEY RADICAL announced his first North American tour FEELS LIKE CASHMERE. He'll now be joined by NYC based recording artist KAMAUU. The tour is set to kick off in Chicago on February 19th at Schubas and go on to visit Toronto and New York before wrapping in Los Angeles on February 25th at the Moroccan Lounge.
