Audra McDonald is one of Broadway's most treasured leading ladies, but she hasn't been seen on the Great White Way since SHUFFLE ALONG in 2016. She recently spoke with The Atlanta Journal Constitution about her busy career and life at home and when the question of her returning to Broadway was raised, she had an exciting answer. 

2Cents Theatre Group's popular 3-day festival of female playwrights is back for year FIVE! We are once again gathering around 100 artists for this one-of-a-kind event, from playwrights to directors to actors and street artists, to celebrate the FEMALE PLAYWRIGHT and ART! February 19, 2018 - Based on Roundabout Theatre Company's Tony Award-winning production, Sam Mendes (Skyfall, American Beauty) and Rob Marshall's (Into the Woods and Chicago, the films) CABARET will play The Playhouse on Rodney Square in Wilmington for eight performances, March 13-19. This is the first time the Broadway revival has toured the historic Wilmington theater.

Michael Rader, Artistic Director of The Cape Playhouse, today announced the creative teams for the 2018 summer season. The McCallum Theatre presents the Walnut Street Theatre's production of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles, on Tuesday, February 27, at 8:00pm. Baskerville features Ian Merrill Peakes as Sherlock Holmes and Bill Van Horn as Doctor Watson. Additional cast members are Sarah Glicko, Dan Hodge and Jered McLenigan.

Widely regarded as an American classic, The Glass Menagerie stars Rob Glauz (Tom Wingfield), Stephanie Lynge (Amanda Wingfield), Ali Foley (Laura Wingfield) and Michael David (Jim O'Connor). The Glass Menagerie opens February 2 and marks the return to freeFall's newly refurbished black box space. freeFall sustained extensive damage to performance space during Hurricane Irma.

BroadwayWorld is sad to share the news today that legendary filmmaker Rick McKay has passed away earlier this week. A longtime friend of the web site, and constant presence in the theatre world, McKay has long been at work on two sequels to his 2004 hit film, Broadway: The Golden Age.

Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand has been invited to represent the United States in the Theatre Olympics, performing as Harold Clurman in his celebrated one-man show, 'LET IT BE ART! Harold Clurman's Life of Passion' in Delhi at the prestigious Kamani Auditorium on February 25th, and at the Kalagram Theatre in Bangalore, India on February 27th, 2018.

The Ordway Center for Performing Arts announced today that producer and director Rod Kaats will assume the position of Producing Artistic Director beginning February 1, 2018. Mr. Kaats succeeds James A. Rocco, who stepped down from the Ordway last year.
