Coming to the Legacy Theatre August 20-21 is Peter and Wendy, a new musical adaptation of the classic story featuring a collaboration between Legacy's Wheel Life Theatre Troupe and the renowned dance company, Pilobolus.

On Sunday, July 24th, the Legacy Theatre Playwrights Circle will present a Festival of New Plays featuring work from Circle members Kate Gill, Allan Appel, Laura Thoma, Julie Fitzpatrick, Zeb Appel, Diana Insolio, Toby Armour, and Emma Palzere-Rae.

The Legacy Theatre, Branford's own regional, professional theatre on the shoreline, will provide ample opportunities to take a break from the heat and to enjoy exciting entertainment and riveting performances this July.

The Guilford Performing Arts Festival (GPAF) has named six Connecticut performing artists as recipients of its 2020 Artistsa?? Awards. Each awardee will get a $2,500 grant and a feature slot in the next festival, scheduled for September 2021. The recipients and their award-winning proposalsa?"three in dance and one each in drama, music and spoken worda?"are:

The Playwrights Realm, led by Founding Artistic Director Katherine Kovner and Producing DirectorRoberta Pereira, presents the line up for INK'D, their annual festival of new plays. Susan Merson, Producing Artistic Director of the Thirteenth Street Repertory Theatre has assembled a passionate group of artists for this musicalized version of her Gothic-style play, BETWEEN PRETTY PLACES, about the choices a central California family must make when they are thrust into supernatural circumstances. Directed by John Hadden, a founding member of the Berkshires' well-respected Shakespeare & Company, and featuring Ellen Parker, Philip Callen, Julie Fitzpatrick, Jemma Kosanke, and Heather Rasche.

In celebration of Asian Heritage month, the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee of Actors' Equity Association will present 'Orphans of the Nightingale of the Desert Abridged: A Bollywood Spectacular,' an evening of short plays written by members of the Ma-Yi Theater Company Writers Lab. This one-night only, free community event will take place on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7:00 p.m.; first come, first served) at the Engelman Recital Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center (55 Lexington Avenue at East 25th Street).

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presents its fourth annual TheaterJam, a one-day festival featuring the work of many of the company's favorite playwrights, actors and directors. The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all-day event will take place at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) tonight, June 2nd.

The brainchild of playwright Dael Orlandersmith, the all-day event will take place at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) on Sunday, June 2nd. Doors will open at 1:30pm. There is a $10 suggested admission charge (cash only) for all day entry - and includes one free beer. There will be a raffle drawing for amazing prizes. Patrons are free to come and go as they please and attend any - or all-of the festival's many offerings. All proceeds will benefit Rattlestick's upcoming 2013-14 season.
