The Dec. 17th show is at Feinstein's/54 Below, 254 W. 54th Street in Manhattan. Showtime is 9:30PM and doors open at 8:45PM for dinner/cocktails.
TADA! Youth Theater Presents THE DANGEROUS CHRISTMAS OF RED RIDING HOOD

The Dangerous Christmas of Red Riding Hood is a hilarious take on the Red Riding Hood story told from the Wolf's point of view, book by Robert Emmett, lyrics by Bob Merrill and music by Jule Styne. TADA! was the first company to perform this musical on stage. It was originally produced as a TV special in 1965 featuring Liza Minnelli, Cyril Richard and Vic Damone. Performances run from November 23 through December 15, 2019. The production will be directed by Janine Nina Trevens, TADA!'s Founder and Producing Artistic Director, and choreographed by Joanna Greer, TADA!'s Associate Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer.

Bay Area Musicals has announced the full cast and creative team for the first production of the Company's 2019-2020 season, the timeless 6-Time Tony Award-winning masterpiece GYPSY. Inspired by the 1957 memoirs of legendary burlesque artist Gypsy Rose Lee, GYPSY features music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Arthur Laurents. Bay Area Musicals' production of GYPSY runs from November 9 a?" December 8, 2019 and will perform at San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre (650 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102). The press opening will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Regular tickets range from $40 - $85 and can be purchased online at www.bamsf.org/gypsy. Opening Night Fundraiser Tickets (available only for the Saturday, November 9 performance at 8:00 p.m.) range from $50 - $100 and includes dessert and a champagne toast with the cast (and can also be purchased online at www.bamsf.org/gypsy).

Youth Theater has announced its 2019-2020 season, which includes three musicals from the early years of TADA! to lead into the celebration of TADA!'s 35th Anniversary Season. As BroadwayWorld sadly reported yesterday, stage star Phyllis Newman passed away yesterday, September 15, at the age of 86.
Newman got her start in show business at 4 years old imitating Carmen Miranda in theatres and clubs. Her portrayal of Martha Vail in the Jule Styne/Comden and Green musical Subways Are For Sleeping - costumed only in a bath towel - earned her a Tony Award. Her other Broadway credits include Bells Are Ringing, The Apple Tree, On the Town, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Awake and Sing, Wish You Were Here, First Impressions, and her one-woman musical The Madwoman of Central Park West, which she co-authored with Arthur Laurents. She garnered a Tony Award nomination for her highly-acclaimed performance in Neil Simon's Broadway Bound.
