They say that spring showers bring May flowers. At The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, spring showers have brought the musical Singin' in the Rain to the stage. Based on the classic MGM film, Singin' in the Rain is part of the theatre's 20th Anniversary Season. Last seen in Frederick nearly twenty years ago, Singin' in the Rain continues its run at Way Off Broadway through May 31st.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 20th Anniversary Season continues this spring with a new staging of the singing and dancing musical based on the classic MGM film, Singin' in the Rain. The Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway has been a part of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, a leader in the region's theater community and one of the area's premiere entertainment venues, since 1996 when it opened with an original production of Sleep Beauty. That was the beginning of what would become one of the most popular family entertainment spots in Frederick. To this day, the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway is the area's only children's lunch theater, offering a family-friendly meal before each show.

At the end of 2013, The Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre announced that it would be opening its 2014 Season with the brand new musical Tilly the Trickster, based on the book by Saturday Night Live star Molly Shannon. With the beginning of the new year, casting for the area premiere production has been announced.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will be kicking off its 20th Anniversary Platinum Season on January 17th when the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, The Sound of Music, returns to the theatre. It will be the first show in a blockbuster line-up in a year that will celebrate Way Off Broadway's two decades of bringing live theatre to the stage.

The show will be the conclusion to Way Off Broadway's 2013 "Broadway Meets Hollywood" Season that included Steel Magnolias, Dolly Parton' 9 to 5: The Musical, Legally Blonde, and Sunset Boulevard.

Over the years, there have been countless adaptations of the writer's classic story with a number of celebrities playing the miserly Scrooge (or a variation of the character) from Kelsey Grammer and Michael Caine to George C. Scott and Albert Finney to Vanessa Williams and Susan Lucci.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre launched its Children Theatre in 1996. Since then, no show has ever been as popular as the smash hit Pinkalicious - The Musical. When the fun, family friendly first appeared on the Children's Theatre stage, it was to open the 2012 Season. The production quickly sold out. When the run was briefly expanded, those performances also sold out. Beginning tonight, September 14, Pinkalicious will return to the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway, back by overwhelming demand!

When The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's producers were working on putting together the 2013 Season, they decided to include shows that were hits both on the stage and the silver screen. 2013 became the year that Broadway and Hollywood met at the Frederick dinner theater, the area's only theater open and producing shows 52 weeks of the year. Following Way Off Broadway's productions of Steel Magnolias, 9 to 5 - The Musical, and Legally Blonde, Way Off Broadway's creative team knew they needed to find the perfect show to fill the fall slot and cap off the 'Broadway Meets Hollywood' Season before moving into the holidays.

Pinkalicious - The Musical, which will run from September 14 - November 2, 2013, is the tale, based on the popular book by Victoria Kann and Elizabeth Kann, of Pinkalicious, who can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this pink predicament.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre's 2013 Season is the year Broadway and Hollywood meet with all of the productions at the theatre being hits both on the silver screen and Great White Way. For the fall, Way Off Broadway will be producing what can be called the epitome of a movie musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard.
