Runaway June wraps a whirlwind tour entertaining troops around the world. Sponsored by Armed Forces Entertainment in partnership with Judy Seale's non-profit organization Stars for Stripes, the tour originally kicked off in 2021. However, the trio just finished the Europe and Asia Pacific leg due to lifted Covid protocols in Japan and South Korea.

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance at Wayne will bring one of William Shakespeare's lesser known works, 'The Winter's Tale', to the Hilberry Stage this February. Directed by Lavinia Hart this poignant winter romance ushers in warmer weather February 7 to 23, 2020 on stage at the Hilberry Theatre. Ebenezer Scrooge returns to the Bonstelle Theatre one final time to delight audiences with this heartwarming tale of family and redemption. After four years of bringing joy for the holiday season, Charles Dickens' a?oeA Christmas Carola?? takes its final bow at the Bonstelle Theatre from December 4 to December 15 as Wayne State University prepares for the construction of the new Gateway Performing Arts Center.

This summer the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, presents the Touring Children's Theatre production of 'Miss Electricity' by Kathryn Walat. This colorful and fast-paced show tours for free to nearly 30 Detroit Community Public Schools as part of the department's ongoing community outreach program. The public is invited to purchase tickets to a performance at the Hilberry Theatre on on June 8th at 11 a.m.

The Town Hall just presented Broadway By The Year: Broadway Musicals of 1943 and 1951 last night, March 25th at 8pm. Created, written, hosted and directed by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall, the evening continues Broadway By The Year's 19th season at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a department within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, will honor legendary Broadway lighting designer, Natasha Katz, with the 2018 Apple Award on Thursday, April 19, 2018 during an invitation-only ceremony at the Fisher Theatre prior to that evening's performance of Broadway's 'School of Rock,' for which Ms. Katz designed the lighting.
