On Thursday, June 27, WHITE WAVE Dance celebrates the 23 Anniversary season of the DUMBO Dance Festival (DDF) with a GALA Opening that heralds the most anticipated four-day festival of contemporary dance in the greater New York City region.

WHITE WAVE DANCE presents the 8th Annual SoloDuo Dance Festival featuring 30 dancemakers from the New York Metro area and beyond. Don't miss this vibrant showcase of talent at Dixon Place in New York City.

WHITE WAVE Dance will invite companies/choreographers to submit applications for the 23rd Annual DUMBO Dance Festival, to be presented from June 27-30, 2024.

The festival celebrates the art of the solo and duet, showcasing emerging and mid-career choreographers.

Alley Theatre kicks off the holiday season with Houston's holiday tradition, A Christmas Carol. Artistic Director Rob Melrose's adaptation combines magic, music, and Dickens. The Tony Award-winning production features the Alley's Resident Acting Company and David Rainey as Ebenezer Scrooge. After debuting atop the charts in numerous countries with his third studio album, The Show, earlier this year, Niall Horan returns with The Show: The Encore – a deluxe edition featuring nine bonus tracks. Horan collaborates with Lizzy McAlpine on a new version of “You Could Start A Cult,” which will be released as a single on October 27.

UK/Irish trio New Rules have released new single “Ghost Town.” The captivating track premiered last night on BBC Radio 1's Future Pop. Written by New Rules and John Ryan [One Direction, Niall Horan, Sabrina Carpenter], “Ghost Town” laments the demise of a relationship and the feeling of abandonment that comes after.

Director Tom Kopp’s sharp and brisk direction keeps things moving on the small stage at the .Zack Theater. He smartly uses Brad Slavik’s static set design to ensure the limited space never seems overcrowded with four or five actors in a scene. His collaboration with his team of actors and technicians creates an effective palate for storytelling.

The New York Dance and Performance Awards, The Bessies, will celebrate these honorees at the 2023 Bessies Angel Party on October 11.

Theatre Under The Stars will return to the Miller Outdoor Theatre stage for the first time since 2019 with a concert in July. The show, dubbed TUTS: A Celebration of Houston Stories and Songs is directed by Mitchell Greco, and will run July 11 – 15 features a cast of beloved Houston actors singing many songs from the shows TUTS has performed over the last 55 years.

Horan shared the official video for the album’s title track. Directed by Connor Brashier (Kygo, Shawn Mendes), the video was shot at the Downtown Palace, a downtown Los Angeles theatre that dates back to the vaudeville era. As a crew rushes around preparing for the evening’s concert, Horan performs “The Show,” accompanying himself on piano.
