Broadway Advocacy Coalition is presenting BROADWAY VS tonight at 7:30pm! Featuring songs from both Norm Lewis and Joshua Henry's careers, BROADWAY VS is helping to uplift and celebrate the vital impact of Black culture on Broadway. BroadwayWorld spoke with Broadway Advocacy Coalition co-founder Christian Dante White about tonight's event!

I was fascinated from the moment I first heard that Fairfield Center Stage was going to perform a musical called THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL, as I did not previously know that such a musical existed.  What I knew, however, is that if it is being put on by Fairfield Center Stage, it is going to be a phenomenal production!   On Friday, June 17th, I had the pleasure of experiencing Fairfield Center Stage’s continued commitment to providing excellent theater that goes that extra mile, when I saw THE SPONGEBOB MUSICAL on opening night, at Fairfield Ludlowe High School in Fairfield, CT.   Director Joel Fenster, musical director Benjamin Doyle, choreographer Lindsay Johnson, artistic director Christy McIntosh-Newsom, and Executive Producer Eli Newsom all combine their talents with the rest of the crew and this stellar cast to give the audience yet another first-rate performance!

Shubert New Haven announces that Broadway’s NORM LEWIS will be the featured performer for the Shubert Theatre’s 2022 Gala on June 8. Chita Rivera – who was originally scheduled to headline the Gala – has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to perform. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announced the 2022-2023 TRUST Cabaret Series.  Now in its 10th season, the Series continues to offer patrons a rare opportunity to see Broadway’s stars and today’s world-class leading vocalist on stage in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District.

​​​​​​​Barnesville High School was lucky enough to get the local premier of the Broadway smash hit! This is the very first production in the brand new auditorium at Barnesville. The show was originally planned for March, but they pushed it back to make sure their beautiful new home was ready.

Powerhouse vocal duo The War And Treaty have signed their first major record deal with Universal Music Group Nashville. The husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter are recording now with new music expected later this year. The news follows The War and Treaty’s recent Americana Honors nomination for “Duo/Group of the Year.'

First Stage has announced their 2022/23 season. The full season kicks off in October at the Marcus Center’s Todd Wehr Theater with the fun world premiere musical ARTHUR AND FRIENDS MAKE A MUSICAL! written by First Stage Resident Playwright John Maclay (THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS), with music and lyrics by Brett Ryback.
