Camille A. Brown & Dancers Return To The Joyce With MR. TOL E. RAncE

Following its world premiere presentation of BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play, and the New York premiere of ink, The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) welcomes back Camille A. Brown & Dancers for an exclusive engagement of Mr. TOL E. RAncE. This Bessie Award-winning production, which began Camille A. Brown's trilogy on black identity, will play The Joyce Theater for three performances only from November 9-10. Young Artists Of America At Strathmore's 2019-2020 Season

The Emmy Award-winning organization will kick off their 2019/2020 season on Sunday, October 27, 2019 with Once Upon a Mattress in Concert at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at 4:00pm and again at Millenium Stage at The John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center November 2, 2019 at 6:00pm. That's the story behind Devine Hamer Gray, a powerful new musical premiered in a staged reading by composer/playwright Nolan Williams, Jr., September 25 in Washington, DC, co-presented by NEWorks Productions and the March on Washington Film Festival. The musical tells the story of these heroic women-Annie Devine, Fannie Lou Hamer, and Victoria Jackson Gray-and the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party they helped to found.

NEW VISIONS/NEW VOICES 2020 Festival Announced!

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces the biennial festival New Visions/New Voices from May 15-17, 2020, marking the 16th showcase of this industry workshop. Dedicated to the development of new plays and musicals for young people and their families, this innovative series pioneers a unique and vital forum for the field of Theater for Young Audiences (TYA).

Black Violin Brings IMPOSSIBLE To The Palace

Comprised of violists Wil Baptiste and Kev Marcus, both classically trained, Black Violin adds DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes for its 2019 Impossible Tour. With a unique blend of classical and hip-hop music, often described as a?oeclassical boom,' the group strives to overcome stereotypes and encourage people of all ages, races, and economic backgrounds to join together to break down cultural barriers.
