Playwright John Cariani writes about love, but not traditional forever-after-love but the kind that starts out well and then the people get to know one another. The stories engage all combinations of genders and human conditions. Cariani tells the stories in Love/Sick with wit, insight and in the aisles of a grocery supercenter.
Similar to its more-light-hearted cousin Almost, Maine, LOVE/SICK is a collection of nine slightly twisted and completely hilarious short vignettes taking place 7:30 on a Today night in an alternate suburban reality (where a bride can literally get cold feet and a couple can simply forgot to have a baby). This 80-minute romp explores the tragedy and comedy of relationships. Full of imperfect lovers and dreamers, LOVE/SICK is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.

Playwright John Cariani is a master at writing about love that's quirky, non-traditional, deeply moving, a little bit sad, and hilariously funny. His first play, Almost, Maine, is now one of the most frequently produced plays in America. In LOVE/SICK he tackles romance in a series of nine vignettes whose common thread is that they take place in the aisles of a mega-mart grocery store. The stories engage all combinations of genders and human conditions.
