Arc Stages Presents FORBIDDEN BROADWAY

Pleasantville theater company Arc Stages announces Forbidden Broadway to begin their fourth season for their professional company, the Next Stage. The Next Stage premiered three years ago with John Cariani's LOVE/SICK and focuses on showcasing new, innovative work by a wide variety of exciting and talented writers. It is the third wing of a company that also includes a thriving Educational Stage and Community Stage.

No More Waiting! THE BAND'S VISIT Recoups on Broadway

Tony Award-winning Best Musical, THE BAND'S VISIT has recouped its $8.75 million capitalization on Broadway. The new musical began performances on October 7, 2017 and officially opened on November 9, 2017 on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street).

The Hatbox Presents LOVE/SICK By John Cariani

LOVE/SICK is coming to the Hatbox Theatre from, September 7th through September 23rd, Todays and Saturdays at 7:30, Sundays at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $17, $14 for members, seniors and students and $12 for senior members.

Katrina Lenk, Tony Shalhoub and THE BAND'S VISIT Cast to Present Scenes by John Cariani Benefitting Wintergreen Arts Center

Members of the original Broadway cast of the 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, The Band's Visit-including Tony Award winners Katrina Lenk and Tony Shalhoub-will come together for a one-night-only benefit presentation of THE BAND VISITS CARIANI, an evening of scenes from John Cariani's plays. Tony & Olivier Award nominee Moritz Von Stuelpnagel (Hand To God,Present Laughter, Bernhardt/Hamlet) will direct. All proceeds will benefit the Wintergreen Arts Center, in Cariani's hometown of Presque Isle, Maine, which offers arts programs to children and adults in rural northern Maine.

Casting Announced For Transport Group's World Premiere Of New Musical RENASCENCE

Transport Group has announced casting for its world premiere musical, Renascence, which begins performances Friday, October 5 at 7:30pm, at the Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street. Renascence has music by Carmel Dean (musical director If/Then, American Idiot), book by Dick Scanlan (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Everyday Rapture), and lyrics from the poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay. The musical is directed by artistic director Jack Cummings III and Dick Scanlan. The opening is set for Thursday, October 25 at 7:30pm.

In the theatre's earliest season announcement in recent memory, Weathervane Playhouse announces an exciting new season of 10 productions including such favorites as Bye Bye Birdie and Noises Off. The new season also includes the regional premiere of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the return of the beloved holiday favorite Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, as well as The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a new adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank, the heartfelt and funny Almost, Maine, the Tony - and Olivier Award-winning Dreamgirls, and our annual 8x10 TheatreFest. All shows will take place in our Founders Theater.

BWW Review: Israeli Star Sasson Gabay Revisits His Film Role in Broadway's THE BAND'S VISIT

The last time an actor appeared in a Broadway musical playing a role he had previously essayed on film, it was 1983, when Anthony Quinn opened in the revival of ZORBA. Sharing that unusual distinction with him now is Israeli actor Sasson Gabay who has taken over as leading man of this past season's 10-time Tony winning musical, THE BAND'S VISIT.
