Kaleidoscope is a variety of reader's theater experiences. Running Aug 7 - 23, Gallery Theater will be producing three shows in three weeks. 

MET-X, of the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), and Theatre FCC, of Frederick Community College, are collaborating on the world premiere play "Piper', coming to the JBK Theater at Frederick Community College (7932 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick) from August 7 through 15.

Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) proudly presents the inspiring, all-teen production of Rent September 18 & 19 at The Hobby Center.  Winner of the TONY Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Rent has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages. 

Imagination Stage is offering new and exciting opportunities this Fall semester, which continue to inspire creativity through theatre arts classes that nurture, challenge, and empower young people of all abilities. These companion releases of Soldier's solo piano (In Black & White) and quartet music (In Four Color) dissect and explore the two classic forms of the classical tradition. Together they encompass five hours of compositions spanning thirty years.

Author Gertie Mae Talton wanted to get a summation of the current times man lives. And thus, she has written 'Armageddon Notes,' (published by Xlibris) a book that takes an intimate look into her life and acquaintances as well as the events that have shaped the environment.

There's a lot happening at off the WALL!  As of July of 2015, Hans and Virginia Wall Gruenert, co-founders of off the WALL Performing Arts Center, have donated the building at 25 W. Main St., Carnegie to the off the WALL Charitable Trust. The not-for-profit venue will be renamed Carnegie Stage, as their nod to a supportive community.  The anchor tenants will continue to be off the WALL Productions, whose main theater season is October to May, fireWALL dance theater with two new works annually and the Pittsburgh New Works Festival.

Alysha Umphress has a special relationship with Barrington Stage Company and William Finn so it wasn't a surprise that on her day off  from On The Town she came to Pittsfield and sang in Mr. Finn's Cabaret.  It also wasn't a surprise the demand for tickets was so great that a second late show had to be added.  

The Pasadena Playhouse presents A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN. Conceived, written and directed by Randy Johnson, with choreography by Patricia Wilcox and musical direction by Tyler Evans. A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN stars Mary Bridget Davies, following her Tony Award nominated Broadway run. Pasadena native Kacee Clanton, also from the Broadway production of A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, will alternate the role of Janis Joplin with Davies.

There's no day like today for Highway Run Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co to announce the hugely anticipated cast line up of upcoming 1990's cult musical RENT playing from October 8 at the Hayes Theatre Co.

Twenty years ago, Michael Berkeley and Ray Roderick mounted their Rip Van Winkle musical in Pine Plains, NY. A newly-refurbished Rip will reawaken with a revamped score and new book as Rip! The Musical at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, beginning today, July 17, and continuing through July 19.

Maybe that's because it wasn't a Broadway house, but a concert venue in New Jersey's suburbs. But, some might think it was Broadway based on the set list for her solo show at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel Sunday night.

A musical journey of survival New York: DEEP Arts in association with The New York Musical Theatre Festival presents the NY Premiere of Moses Man with book & lyrics by Deborah Haber and music by Casey Filiaci, directed by Michael Bush. The show will be feature choreography by Wendy Seyb with musical direction by Don Kot. Moses Man will play from July 8-13, 2015 at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street).
