Ever wonder which Broadway tunes have inspired your favorite performers? Check back every Tuesday for ON RECORD- to find out which cast recordings have made an impact on Broadway's brightest stars.

In this week's edition, we hear from Sarah Stiles, who is currently starring as 'Jessica' in Hand to God- playing at the Booth Theatre. Read on to find out her top five picks!

1. Les Miserables

Oh Frances Ruffelle and the raw high ping belting you do throughout this album. Tortured Goddess. I would sing your part at the end of Heart Full of Love straight into the mirror at my tween baby face and weep.

2. Rent

Rent was extremely important to me and my generation of musical lovers. A whole new crop of young theater enthusiasts came out as a result of this show. We would sit on my bed listening to the album and talk about sex, drugs, AIDS, homosexuality, cross dressing. I grew up in a tiny town in New Hampshire. We were sheltered. RENT opened our eyes and it was terrifying and thrilling and I wanted to be a part of it.

3. Anything Bernadette

Mack and Mabel, Sunday in the Park with George and Into the Woods....INTO THE WOOOOODSSSS. I learned comedy from watching the PBS special and listening to this recording. My first Broadway gig was The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, otherwise known as the "Mom, I get to work with the writer/director of Into the Woods" play. Cut to being Little Red in the Shakespeare in the Park production... Everything about that job was literally a dream come true. From getting the thumbs up from Sondheim and my love affair with Chip Zien to quite literally bumping into Bernadette backstage and acting like a 12 year old girl at a One Direction concert screaming in her face. Ok so that last part was more embarrassing then a dream come true.

Buy them today at Amazon or iTunes.

4. Jesus Christ Superstar

Growing up with new age/crunchy parents. JCS was not only a revelation to me that musicals could rock so much but it was how I found out about Jesus and all that shit he went through. I had some QUESTIONS after I heard that album. What's the buzz? Tell ME what's a happenin?!

Buy it today at Amazon or iTunes.

5 .Chess

I really, really loved CHESS- the London Original Cast recording. However, now that I think about it, I still have no idea what happens in that show. Like the actual plot. I mean they play Chess right? And there's an American, and some shit goes down in Thailand... We know She Knows "Someone" So Well...

Buy it today at Amazon or iTunes.
